Small Craft Studio Tour Part 1 and Winner of Week 4 Happy Blogiversary Giveaway
Hello Friends! Happy Friday! As many of you know, my husband and I sold our big family home last year and downsized into a cute little ranch home. Of course, this meant I had to create a whole new studio space. This was fun…and challenging. My former studio was more than twice as big, and had almost unlimited closet/storage space. I had to do a major purge before and after moving. I’ve spent the last 10 months working on my new, smaller studio and I can honestly say, I love it! Since we’ve been celebrating my 4th Blogiversary this month, I thought it would be fun to share a video tour. This Small Craft Studio Tour Part 1 goes over the basic layout as well as some furniture design and storage ideas. So, welcome to my small craft studio!
Small Craft Studio Tour Part 1
Hey! What About the Giveaway?
Not to worry, my friends! I haven’t forgotten about announcing the winner of my Week 4 Happy Blogiversary Giveaway! I put all the numbers into random.org and the winner is:
#5: Barb Macaskill
Congratulations, Barb! Please e-mail me your mailing address and I’ll get your crafty goodies mailed off to you.
As luck would have it, Barb hails from the state I grew up in: Vermont. Isn’t that amazing? And to make things even more interesting, she lives in the town next door to my old hometown! I even went to church there. It really is a small world!
A Heartfelt Thank You
I hope you have had as much fun as I did during this Blogiversary Giveaway. I wish I could have sent a prize package to each and every one of you. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to my questions. I gathered a lot of useful information:
- You prefer YouTube to Snapguide
- Your favorite color combos
- The things you enjoy about my blog (and some changes I need to make!)
- The types of projects you enjoy creating
All this intel will find its way into future blog posts which means my blog will hopefully become even more relevant and helpful as time goes by. Hearing from you all over the course of the past 4 weeks has been a fantastic experience.
Thank you again for taking this artful journey with me. I couldn’t as for better travel companions!
I’ll be back tomorrow with Part II of my small craft studio tour. I’ll share specific storage and organizational tips and before/after photos of the studio. I hope you will join me!
Thanks for stopping by!
Cheerio,
kathy
Loved the studio showing…now I know where you spend most of your time…love and hugs…xox
Congratulations Barb!!! Great tour and hoping to see more as time goes by!
Congrats to my crafty friend, Barb! Thanks for the tour… your organized and well stocked space is drool-worthy! I guess I’ll go in next time we’re by Harbor Freight rather than just going over to Ross… lol! : ) Looking forward to your storage tips!
I really enjoyed your craft room tour, and especially love that you have a smaller sized room that’s closer to the size of mine. I’m always seeing these big beautiful craft rooms with expensive organizers and furniture , which are impressive, but not something I can ever hope for. Your use of repurposed storage elements (LOVE seeing your Napa Wine box and the yard sale storage) makes my thrifty heart sing! My own craft room is always a project in progress and I seem to need re-organizing every time I get new supplies.I can’t wait for Part 2!
Love your studio! I particularly enjoyed and totally “related” to your organizing tips & techniques. I am right there with you!
I too am in the process of moving and redesigning my studio. Moving from 25 ‘ X 25’ room to a 1-1/2 car garage (who can get their vehicle it FIT in that tiny space?!) that my son completely renovated for me. He even removed the garage door and replaced it with a nice window and regular door!
Hopefully, I will be able to share my “new” studio and some of my organizational ideas and tips as well…sooner rather than later. 🙂
Thanks for sharing. Great ideas, super sweet studio!

Loved the tour. You are so organized and have used some unique pieces to do so. I am pretty organized too but I tend to have most stuff inside closets in clear plastic bins. I do keep a few things right beside me but recently made a big effort to get it off my desk because I felt like it was closing in on me. Maybe one day I might take people on a tour.
Oh I am soooo jealous Kathy, your room is fab! Congrats on the 4 years, lots of hard work. You are lucky to have such handy people in your family! Your hubby is a rock star and your son for making such lovely usable things for your creativity!! LOVE YOUR ROOM. Thanks for sharing a little bit more of yourself.
The snow is almost gone and now the rains again are in the forecast. The ground can’t hold anymore, so it sits on the top. YUCK. Come on spring.
Thanks for the tour. Got some great ideas.
Thanks for the craft room tour! What a great space to create in! So excited that I am the lucky winner of these beautiful stamps! Can’t wait to create with them!
I love the fact that you lived near me and attended the same church we do! What a small world it really is! I sent you an email and hope we know some of the same hometown people! talk soon and thanks for the fun blogiversary celebration! Congratulations on 4 years of blogging! Looking forward to 40 more years! 🙂
Yeah, Barb! What a fantastic prize! Kathy, you are so generous! I just enjoyed a bowl of chicken soup watching your video, and I am so darn impressed and to tell the truth, jealous! It may be small to you, but I would be squealing if I could carve out that space for a craft room! You have used every inch to it’s best ability and highest use-bravo! Want to come organize my tiny Closet? Speaking of Closet, perhaps you will share the Closet of Shame??? You had some really good tips–hand sanitizer–woulda thunk?! I was delighted to see my birthday tag got a special place on your mixed media station! Tickled pink! Sending big hugs!
Sending congrats to
Barb! Cute studio and
love the work table.

Great room tour! I enjoyed your thrifty bargains and tips! You are very organized and I love all your bins and the like! I don’t think your room is small at all! Could you please let me know where you buy the Darice 12×12 paper storage envelopes. Looking forward to Part 2 of your video! Enjoy your day!
