Something Sweet Cupcake Birthday Card

Something Sweet Cupcake Birthday Card by Kathy Clement for Really Reasonable Ribbon

LemonCraft Something Sweet Cupcake Birthday Card

Hello, Friends! I made this LemonCraft Something Sweet Cupcake Birthday Card for our 7 year old granddaughter’s birthday.  Little girl birthday cards call for lots frills, flowers and sweetness. I had such a good time adding all those elements to this 6×6 easel style card.

Lydia loves kitties and umbrellas and desserts!  This Reneaqbouquets image actually looks a bit like her!  You can’t see it in the photo, but I added glitter to the lace trim, the cupcake frosting and the doily in the background.  Because little girls also love sparkly things!  Come to thiink of it, big girls do, too!

The Pale Pink Seam Binding Ribbon Bow makes me think of Cotton Candy, which is another of Lydia’s favorite treats.  First I tied a triple loop bow on my Bow-it-All Tool.  Then I tucked it into the flower cluster using the point of my scissors to secure it.

The cupcake border doubles as a pocket.  Gramps and I wrote Lydia a special note then tucked it inside the pocket.

If you’re wondering why the donuts ended up inside the card, I can explain.  This year, Lydia wanted a donut cake for  her party.  Not a cake shaped like a donut, mind you!  But an actual pyramid of chocolate donuts stacked up on the special birthday cake plate that we use for all the parties.  Yes….she’s got a sweet tooth to match her sweet personality!

Suddenly I have a craving for cupcakes!

Kathy, I can’t even imagine a more darling card for a little girl’s birthday! That little girl with her beautiful parasol brought back such a wonderful memory for me. My grandmother gave me the prettiest ruffled parasol for a birthday when I was a young girl. I just love all of the wonderful colors and “sweet” images in this collection. Your granddaughter will be so happy to get such a lovely card. Thank you for sharing! Hugs!
