Christmas in July Day 2: Spellbinders Celebrate the Season Sled Tag with Stamperia Romantic Christmas
Hello, Friends! It’s day 2 of Christmas in July and we’re going to make this wonderful vintage Spellbinders Celebrate the Season Sled Tag together. If you were lucky enough to grow up with snow at Christmas, then you probably remember the thrill of belly flopping onto a wooden sled and shrieking your way all the way to the bottom of a big hill. This adorable sled die brought all kinds of delightful memories back to my mind as I was working with it.
The base of our Tim Holtz Etcetera Tag measures 4 1/2″ x 8″. It’s the perfect size to set out on a little side table or in a mantel display. Dress it up with Stamperia Romantic Christmas papers to create a delightful botanical/nostalgic vibe.
Celebrate the Season Sled
Ok…true confessions. I’m kinda smitten with this little sled. I die cut it from patterned woodgrain paper, and I love the way it turned out. The die set comes with the sled, skates, poinsettia and greenery. You can use the sled with or without the ice skates, but why would you not want to use those cute skates?
At first I thought the poinsettias were too small, but by the time I was finished, I decided that I really like the size. They flow perfectly with the size of the sled, of course. But I can also see myself using these as “filler” with other flower dies. They are super easy to make, as you will see in the video tutorial.

And those peppercorns …perfect! Yes I remember those sledding days growing up …especially when I hit the tree! Mercy …I saw stars for a bit!!! Lol! Thanks for sharing another tutorial with us! Big hugs, Suzy Q
A beautiful tag and such wonderful memories! I remember going to a park that had lots of hills, only we used an old car hood and we would all jump in and away we would go! Thank you Kathy for a beautiful project and giving us insight as to who you are. I love the stories as much as I do the crafts!
Wow! What a great tag-love the Christmas in July tutorials. Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful tag Kathy!!! I too love the little sled. I used to sled down our hill and I would stop in front of my aunts house. Back in the day, there wasn’t the traffic so no one was ever concerned with vehicles running children over as we came flying down the hill. Every kids dream!!!! Thanks for sharing this amazing project!!!
THIS! I have to put this one in my “Kathy” folder to make for someone special this Christmas! I love it, Kathy! You never disappoint!
Aw-Aw-Aw-Awesome! Always loved movies that had that romantic scene with benches, a pond and couples skating together, with benches and a little fire going to warm up! Your card is just as romantic. A wonderful step-by-step video which you do so well and generously provide such great tips – enjoyable by novice to skilled paper crafters! Love that fussy cut edge; touches like that take projects to the next level. I had another delightful morning with coffee today while watching your video – Thanks, Kathy!
Oh my, how beautiful! And you’re so right, those ice skates are just darling!
