Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month: Simple Stories Rustic Christmas Tree Slimline Card

Simple Stories Simple Rustic Christmas Slimline Card by Kathy Clement Kathy by Design Photo 01

My inspiration project is made with the Amazing Paper Grace November Die of the Month.  Here’s how to put this card together.

  • Next, die cut the small tree die from green cardstock.  Then add the filigree insert to the die and cut a second time from gold foil cardstock.
  • Now layer the gold foil layer over the green background.  Back the tree with foam to add extra dimension.
  • Then die cut the Scalloped Symphony Square Decorative Outline and Insert detail from white cardstock. Brush lightly with gold glimmer gel and adhere to the card base.
  • Next, adhere the tree over the filigree die cut.
  • Finally, add a Simple Stories Rustic Christmas Chipboard over the base of the tree.

Sweet Details

Now die cut a gold foil tag greeting using the Perfect Harmony Notecard Embellishment Die from Amazing Paper Grace. Then add a chipboard greeting to the die cut and tuck it in with the floral cluster on the card.

A Peek Inside

Create a gift card pocket inside the card.  Embellish it with the Circle Decorative Outline and Insert from the Scalloped Symphony Notecard Die.

This is the perfect spot to tuck in a gift card and a little Christmas treat.

As much as I love your work; I found my self thinking of that lovely Dark Chocolate Peppermint! (Maybe I should have had dinner.) And you work has such a warm-by-the-fireside, homey feel that makes me yearn for my youthful Christmas’ adventures. You always warm my heart and make me smile with your stunning projects…

Kathy, what a stunner! You have incorporated so many beautiful Christmas elements in this card.
The bows and poinsettias are gorgeous and that die combo is fabulous! I love that cute little gingham Christmas tree. How cute! Thank you for sharing! Hugs!

As pretty as the outside of this card is, it’s the inside that is drawing my eyes…beautiful poinsettia images!! The shades of green are so pleasing…lovely nature images on the trees, too. Here’s a giggle for you, Kathy. My first glance at this card made me blink twice…that ticket looked like folded up money held with a little clothespin! I think it ‘s the color of that ticket that made my mind jump to “money.” Had to take a more detailed look and found myself giggling at my first thought. Ha! Ha! This week finds me starting my Christmas Countdown project for the grands..25 hot cocoa and hot apple cider cups/mugs ornaments for their tree. With mail taking longer, I want to get the project mailed before Thanksgiving. Time to get to work!
