Spellbinders Party Pugs and Cheerful Kittens
Hello, Friends! Today I’m taking a little break from our Christmas in July theme to share these adorable Spellbinders Party Pugs and Cheerful Kittens cards. My granddaughter was here yesterday, and we had the best time putting these cute critter cards together. They turned out so well that I just had to share them with you.
Slimline Party Puggles
What could possibly be more fun than a trio of Party Puggles all dressed up in top hats and bow ties? These dapper doggies simply make me smile. I’ve used some red glitter cardstock to cut out the bow ties and head gear. My favorite pug is the one of the far left. Something about his expression makes me think of Sir Winston Churchill. This card will go to our middle son on his 40th birthday next month, so the sentiment is also perfect.
I created a gift card pocket and sentiment panel inside the card using scraps of Photoplay Add Another Candle paper. It had just the right lighthearted, festive feel to go with the Party Pugs.
Equal Time for Cheerful Kittens
Can I tell you a secret? I have a weakness for marmalade kitties. So naturally, I created one with this hilarious die. (There are 2 different kitty dies in the set, but I just had to make this one because it made e laugh.) I found some handmade paper in my stash that worked perfectly for the marmalade markings on our daredevil kitty. After piecing him together, we used the 3-D Argyle Plaid Embossing Folder to create a simple textured background that allowed him to take center stage.
Patterned papers from Echo Park Farmhouse Living cover the inside. Create a little tea bag wallet with the Envelope Punch Board. Washi tape from my stash keeps it nice and snug on the top of the card.
Crafting with my grandchildren is one of my favorite things. I love seeing how excited they get when projects like these begin to come together. Do you have grandchildren ( or children or nieces or nephews) that you can craft with? If so, you know the joy I experienced in my studio yesterday.
I hope you are enjoying a creative, restful and joyful weekend, my friends!
