Spellbinders Story Time Gnomes Clear Stamp & Die Club and Wax Seal of the Month

Hello, Friends!  If you are a book lover (or a gnome fan) this Spellbinders Storytime Gnomes greeting card is sure to bring a smile to your face.  It’s the March 2024 Clear Stamp and Die Club selection, and lots of fun to work with.  It’s loaded with bright, cheery colors thanks to  PhotoPlay Book Club Collection,   The March 2024 Wax Seal of the Month, “Congrats on Your New Chapter” pairs perfectly with all the card elements.

Paper Pieced and Water Colored Image

This adorable little book gnome is so fun to paper piece.  Here’s how I did it:

  • First, stamp the image with Black Archival Ink on plain white cardstock. Cover with clear embossing powder and heat emboss.
  • Cut out the image with the matching die.
  • Next, stamp it again on white glimmer paper.  Trim out the beard and face and adhere to the base image.
  • Now stamp the hat on a scrap of red patterned paper.  Trim this out and adhere above the beard.  I also stamped the nose on flesh colored cardstock, then trimmed out and adhered.
  • Color the soles of the shoes, the shirt and the hands with water color paints and a water brush.
  • Stamp the books on a scrap of antique gold cardstock and again on a scrap of red cardstock.  Heat emboss the ink to make the details pop.  Trim out the red book cover and adhere on the book stack.
  • Finish the card with ribbon, the wax seal, Baker’s Twine, Banner Sticker and buttons.
A Peek Inside

Create a simple pocket inside the card and dress it up with some stickers  and ephemera from the Book Club paper collection.

Stamp the reading gnome on white cardstock, heat emboss, then trim out with the matching die.  I used watercolors on this image.  Then stamp the sentiment and cut out with the matching die.  Create a cute bookmark from paper scraps and tuck into the pocket.  I also created a little note card to go into the pocket.

I’m enjoying this challenge of improving my stamping and coloring skills as the new Clear Stamp and Die Club is released.  It’s good to keep adding to one’s skill set, and keep learning new things.  I have a long way to go yet, but I’m having fun along the way.

I’ve placed this item in my Etsy Shop.

You can find a linked supply list below this post.

Thanks so much for stopping by, friends!

Paper piecing and layering looks so cool. Great idea to add that extra piece onto the stack of books aka the red cover and the sentiment in the seal is perfect. There is so much to see here, all the fine details that make a card interesting and textured. Well done indeed.
