Stamperia Daisy Art Folio Tutorial Part 1

Stamperia Daisy Art Folio Tutorial Part 1

Hello, Friends!  It’s May, and we’re starting a brand new series with this Stamperia Daisy Art Folio Tutorial.  Oh, this collection is so full of my favorite colors and happy vibes!  I just had to create an interactive folio to show off all its beauty!  We’ll create the first part of the folio this week, then (hopefully!) finish it up in next week’s Wonderful Wednesday tutorial.

I shared a walk through video of this paper collection last month.  In case you missed it, you can view it HERE.  It is selling out fast, as all beautiful papers have a tendency to do, but there are still quite a few pieces of the collection left.  I’ve linked to them below, as well as tagged them in the YouTube video.

So many of you asked me to make a mini album or a folio this month.  I hope this 8 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ x 1″ folio base will inspire you to create.

Even if  you are a card-maker, there are a lot of features in this tutorial that can be used on a card.  And, you don’t have to use these papers (although why would you NOT want to use them?).  Build the base with me, and then use your own favorite papers to customize the design.

This week we will build the folio base, embellish the cover and create the left hand panel.  The video is loaded with technique, so I invite you to grab a cuppa and a snack, relax and enjoy!

Here’s another look at that left hand flap page.  Oooh, so many fun elements can be found here!

I’ll be back next week with Part 2 of this tutorial.  We’ll finish the interior and add the lace spine.  So set your clocks, and I’ll see you here next week!

Remember: you can find basic measurements for this project in the description box below the video on my YouTube channel.  I’ve also linked a supply list there.

As always, you can find a linked supply list below this post as well.

Thanks so much for stopping by, friends!

Cheerio,

kathy

    Got the failure notice again.
    Hi Kathy,

Nice to hear that recovery is going well. You are a trooper to do more surgery this year but it will be a past memory before you know it.

I’m sorry about Dale too. My husband, Phil, fell at the mailbox when there was still ice and snow around. He waited a bit and could barely move his right arm (He’s right handed). He finally got x-rays weeks after the occurrence (a bit of him and a lot of timing on lab availability). By the time he had the scan, he was significantly more mobile with the right arm. But he has a torn rotator cuff. He was told to get completely back to normal, he needs surgery. Well, he loves working outside so he wants to wait till sometime next winter. A friend in church today asked him when he was going to do something and he said February. Apparently, it is a 6 to 8 weeks recovery.

Onto the fun stuff, yes on the Daisy Art folio and whenever you could get to it would work for me. It will be for me. For the 8×8 pad, have have two styles: one is the traditional double-sided pad and the other is called a maxi single-sided one. Which would you like? I never got the wooden pieces but was able to find some so I’ve got that coming. I also found some more ephemera. I have some 12 x 12 pads and I ordered another one.

Once I get the ordered items, I’ll pack them together and send them off to you.

BTW, I am continuing to enjoy the G45 calendars you made for me a few years back. Thank you again for them.

I’m off to do a little counted cross stitching now. I have a few pieces I’m working on and the fabric is harder to stitch at night (my favorite time to stitch).

    Enjoy your day.

    Hugs and best wishes,
    Dottie

Well now this video needs another view as your project has so much interest, texture and design! Loving the use of your favourite techniques along with new ways to pop in a pocket or flap as a surprise. I too am looking forward to seeing the next video. The papers are just lovely with fabulous imagery that stands on its own. I made a miniature sized folio, aka atc size with the one sheet wonder from last week to send to my arty friend, love the idea and will use it again, thanks Kathy. It has been cold overnight here with gorgeous blue skies, perfect for some gardening too. The hardwoods have arrived for a balcony renovation, yee hah after a year of being on the list things are happening!

Boy, Kathy…the hits just keep coming with this design! So many creative elements to learn from. I sprang for the junk journal and ephemera and will fill in where necessary. What a lovely mini album. As you know, they’re my favorite. Love that row of colored pencils and how you used it.

    Kathy,
This is so timely. I have been working with Stamperia’s Daisy Art collection. I’m making some cards for friends who happen to currently be state officers on our P.E.O. board. the organization’s flower is the marguarite (so the daisy is perfect).

Good morning Kathy! I went to your ETSY to query the price of this folio, but didn’t see it…

Loved watching your creativity in the first installment of this folio-all the pockets and flaps are fabulous! I can’t wait to see next weeks video. Thanks so much for sharing!
