Stamperia Family Card Folio Tutorial: A Use Your Scraps Project
Hello, Friends! Today I have a sweet little Stamperia Family Card Folio Tutorial that is loaded with ways to use up your paper scraps. Is it just me, or has the price of designer papers gone up a LOT lately? Because of this phenomenon, I find I want to use every last bit of paper that I possibly can. How about you?
You can use this card folio design with any paper scraps that you happen to have in your stash. It’s loaded with interactive features that make it extra fun to open. And, there’s lots of room for photos and journaling in the design.
Sound good? Then I hope you’ll read on to find out all about it!
Interactive Card Front
Surprises make me happy. So I designed this gatefold card front to sit on a side fold card base. That’s a fun surprise, isn’t it? The gates are made from scraps of designer paper. Simply score flaps that adhere behind the base panel, and you’ve got the first surprise in place.
Next surprise? How about a Graphic 45 Regular Tag Die and ribbon closure that opens to reveal cute fussy cut images from the paper collection.
Third surprise? How about a flip page inside the front cover of the card? Just score a 1/2″ flap on the left hand side of a journal card, and you’ve got the makings of a simple flip page.
Ok, so this adorable mouse family marching on the piano keys makes me smile every time. And do you spy the final surprise? Yup. That’s a hidden pocket feature with a journal card and bookmark tucked inside.
And we haven’t even opened the card base yet!
What’s Inside the card?
Oh, nothing much to see here. Just a pair of pockets and a stack of journal cards.
Mat photos or write little note on the back side and you’ve got another fun feature to add to the tally. And you can always tuck in a treat, tea bag or gift card, too.

SUPPLY LIST

Wow, you certainly know how to make the leftovers into a delightful project with layers, texture and as you always do, tell a story! After all the pieces you have made over the last few weeks it is amazing how complicated this is with just bits and pieces. I reckon these papers could look good with your patchwork background technique of gluing the bits and pieces onto card then stitching, patchwork on papers with patchwork…… still pretty warm here, but the nights are definitely cooler and it won’t be long before the winter quilt will get an airing. Glad to hear you are comfortable back at your standing work station, that really is a milestone.
Another quick and clever idea, Kathy. I have so much Easter/Spring paper…looks like a good template candidate for using some of that as I generally have six cards/holiday to send off. Glad you’re back on your feet again!
I’m always amazed at what you create with scraps! I have so many leftover collections that I really need to use up. Thank you as always for sharing and am looking forward to next weeks project!
Why do I love these little mice so much?! If they were real, I’d be up on a chair… The card is wonderful, Kathy…again you have dreamed up something that may be fairly easy to make yet will amaze and astound our friends and family! Thank you!
Hi, my name is Gale and I’m new to your YouTube channel. I just wanted to say how much I love your work! I especially adore the family mouse — I loved it so much that I’ve ordered everything I need to follow along with your tutorials.
I split my time between Cyprus and the UK, so I’m hoping everything will be waiting for me when I return to the UK next month. I’m really excited to get started on these projects!
One idea I’m particularly passionate about is creating a recipe journal as a keepsake for my granddaughters. I’d love to make something I can keep adding to over time, so that when they’re older, they’ll have something special from me. I’m a very keen baker, and it would mean a lot to pass my recipes on to them in a meaningful and personal way.
I was wondering — have you ever created a recipe journal tutorial? If so, I’d love it if you could share the link. If not, it would be wonderful if you might consider making one in the future!
Regards
Gale
