Stamperia House of Roses Time Brings Roses Shaker Card

Stamperia House of Roses Shaker Card: Time Brings Roses

Hello, Friends!  Today’s dose of crafty inspiration is a Stamperia House of Roses Shaker Card made with Beautiful Board from Reneabouquets.  Time Brings Roses: I love the sentiment inside this elegant shaker box!  It’s so timely for the situation we find ourselves in, isn’t it?

In the middle of all this chaos, I have found myself saying over and over again, ” Look for the beautiful. Be at peace. Be kind.”  This time of “social distancing” is not easy.  But I do believe in my heart that this time will, indeed, bring roses in our lives if we encourage them to bloom.

It would be so easy to focus on the darkness that is roaring all around us.  But what good would that do us in the long run?  And I know that many of us are struggling to keep our lives and our businesses afloat and our families safe.  I’m right there with you.   It would be easy to fall apart.  Instead,  I choose to make beautiful things, prepare lovely (if unusual) meals, to find reasons to rejoice (sunrise and sunset still make my heart sing) and to share a little joy with each of you here.

 The Shaker Box

The Beautiful Board Shaker Box on this card is from Reneabouquet’s shop.  The design is brilliant as it allows for a deep shaker box surrounded with an elegant frame. You can find a tutorial for putting this dimensional shaker box together HERE.  I’ve topped it with a Reneabouquets Heart Deco Small Frame,  a die cut wreath and small Paula Pearl Pink Posies.  Little Birdie Layla Roses and Dusty Rose Wrinkled Ribbon tie all the pink hues together.

Creating Layers

Here’s how this card came together:

  • First, create a light grey 5 1/2″ square card base with a 3/4″ spine.
  • Next, mat a 5″ square of designer paper on both cream and dark grey cardstock.
  • Tear a border piece from the paper collection and adhere along the bottom of the card.
  • Tear another border and adhere at the top.
  • Fussy cut a spray of roses and small flowers from the paper collection and adhere as seen in the photo.
  • Tap the Heart Deco Frame with Versamark Ink and heat emboss with Wow Vintage Champagne Embossing Powder.
  • Assemble the shaker box as seen in the video tutorial.  Before you adhere the top ring, slip the frame over the top.  Then add the top scallop.
  • Die cut the wreath from green and pink cardstock.  Layer together with small pieces of foam dimensionals.  Adhere to the top of the shaker box.
  • Add flowers and ribbon.
  • Cover the top of a G45 Ivory tag with designer paper.  Adhere to the card base.  Then attach the card cover to the card base.
Stamperia House of Roses Shaker Card: A Peek Inside

Box style cards make the best gifts, and they are so much fun to create!

Tuck a decorated G45 Square Ivory Tag in the upper pocket. Layer the die cut clock on grey paper to make it pop.

Tea, anyone?  Here you’ll find a mini envelope filled with tea bag and tags.  A lovely vintage silver plated spoon, an individually wrapped Biscoff cookie, chocolate and a honey packet all dressed up with ribbon waits for you in the gift box pocket.  There’s room to write a note or add a photo on the back of the journal card.

I have to say, when I first opened this post my first words were Holy Cannoli! Kathy, this is so pretty, and I literally have been scrolling up and down looking at all the details while I read through your easy to follow along with instructions. I even popped over to the sales floor to check out the shops lovely offerings. This is just amazing, and truly an inspiration. I pray that you continue to keep your positive outlook throughout these next 30 days and that you and your family will stay safe and healthy. This is all the time I can take to visit your blog for now, but I will be back to get a daily dose of inspiration, as I have lots to catch up on! Big big hugs to you!

I LOVE the inside of this card! After the “business” of the card front, this “more simple” inside is really drawing my eyes. Your words of wisdom and inspiration are much appreciated during these challenging times. Our world is ever changing…just wish it didn’t have to happen with such negative results…history in the making. I really thought I would be more productive during these days of staying inside…I certainly have enough paper crafting supplies surrounding me! Oh, well…I have discovered more YouTube channels than I ever knew existed!! Just spent 90 mins. on SKYPE with grandkids in St. Louis, MO. All their school classes will be on computers starting Wednesday…their school district supplied computers for every student! Amazing adaptations to unusual circumstances. What an experience this is!!! .

Thank you Kathy for such a beautiful beautiful card in such a trying and most difficult time for some. The inside of this one is filled with beautiful goodness! Thank you for sharing your love and creativity in this craziness. Making beautiful things does help to pass the time especially when I’m not babysitting for my devoted nurse daughter in law at her nursing care facility. Just found out from the governor …Indiana goes on lockdown starting tomorrow. He’s hoping to keep us safe from exposure. Praying we will all pull thru this and be a much stronger nation for it! Hugs my friend, Suzy Q

Thank you so much for your wonderful encouragement and sharing your gorgeous design with us. I would love to try this one out at some point.

Kathy, thanks for sharing such a timely sentiment in such an exquisite setting. This shaker box is awesome…great video to see how it is created. Since my craft shopping these days is essentially on line, I appreciate you introducing new products more than ever. Hugs!

Gorgeous paper and enjoyed visiting Reneabouquets. For me this card is a sweet, nostalgic reminder of yesteryear with the reassurance of a promising new day. Memories of white picket fences, meals at a table with old favorites of tea and biscuits give you optimism of the future as you remember wonderful memories of the past. Love the softness of the colors and backgrounds contrasted with the sharp focus of the little birdie looking at sentiment, “you have everything you need” (a very appropriate saying for current times – we do have what we need to get through this – each other). Thanks Kathy for reminding me of this.

Kathy, what a gorgeous card! Stamperia papers are so lovely and then YOU come along and turn them into something spectacular! The little bird on the fence and the chair with the table is so sweet. And is that a darling little bee I spy in the middle of the clock face tag? So much prettiness all in one place. What a wonderful gift this will make! Thank you for sharing! Hugs!
