Stamperia Nutcracker Tea Party in a Box Tutorial for Wonderful Wednesday
Hello, Friends! It’s Wonderful Wednesday and I have a gorgeous Stamperia Tea Party in a Box Tutorial to share with you. I’m a firm believer that birthdays are important and should be celebrated with lots of friends, family, gifts…and of course, cake! This lovely little folio makes a unique gift that I think you will enjoy making.
So grab a cuppa and a snack and let’s explore this birthday confection together, shall we?
Sweet Ballerina Shaker Tag Surprise
Although Nutcracker is a Christmas themed paper collection, there are lots and lots of patterns and images that work perfectly for winter birthday celebrations. This Tea Party in a Box measures 5 1/4″ x 7 1/2″ with a 1″ spine, so there’s lots of room to tuck in sweet surprises.
Speaking of surprises, how about we tuck in a Button Farm Club Shaker Tag under the ribbon closure? That would be fun, wouldn’t it? I designed this shaker tag to go with my latest Button Farm Club Kit release. But, you can purchase the shaker tag dies separately from the kit. I’ll show you how easy it is to create these big shaker tags in today’s tutorial.
Another fun surprise in this project is the gatefold card front featuring the gorgeous winter window scenes from the paper collection. our sweet ballerina serves as a turn tab for this feature.
And look…there’s the birthday party goodies all laid out on a table inside. How sweet is that?
A Peek Inside
To carry the birthday ballerina theme throughout the project, I added another image to the flip page inside the card folio. You’ll get to see what’s inside when you watch today’s video.
And, of course, we had to load up that box pocket with all kinds of treats and sweets for the birthday girl! This is my favorite part of the process, as I get to use elements from the paper collection to make bookmarks, tags or notecards. I also love to search through my cupboards for special treats like peppermint sticks, biscotti, tea and chocolate. And there’s something about vintage demitasse spoons that makes everything feel more like a party!
Once the treats have been enjoyed, that box pocket presents a perfect spot to store photos and other memorabilia from the special day.

Thanks Kathy for an innovative design. I will look differently at 12 x 12 papers now, as the way you used the 3 doors in one is a great idea let alone all the goodies in the box. Adding the tag makes it all the more interesting. Fab piece of creativity indeed! You will be busy with thanksgiving prep and what a year with a new grandson around the table. We are busy with gardening and getting ready for guests.
