Stamperia Sea Land Mixed Media Folio Tutorial for Throwback Thursday

Hello, Friends!  Grab your sunscreen and flip flops and join me as I share this Stamperia Sea Land Mixed Media Folio Tutorial.  It’s Throwback Thursday, and I’m indulging my love for the ocean with another beach themed project.  This folio base is super quick to build and can be used with any collection you have in your stash.

If you remember, a few weeks ago I showed you how to use a Spellbinders 3-D embossing folder to make a mixed media background.  Since I had an extra panel left over from that demo, I decided to use it as the springboard for today’s project.

Pockets and Tags

The folio base for this project measures 7 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ x 1″.  This gives us lots and lots of room to add pockets, flaps, tags and more.

Here’s a peek at the goodies stashed inside the pockets.  Doesn’t this collection make you dream of the sea?

I won’t share all the details here, as we’ll do a walk through of the project in the video tutorial below.  But I thought you would enjoy taking in the beautiful colors and images from this collection.  It’s been around quite some time, but Stamperia has just re-released it this year, and I’m glad it’s available once again.

Shells and Seahorses

The lateral waterfall in the center of the folio has shell shaped turn tabs and a magnetic closure.  I could not resist adding a seahorse and starfish collage to the facing page.

Message in a bottle?  No, but you can write one on the tag that’s tucked behind this collage page.  And there’s room to tuck a photo under the sentiment card on the facing page.

If you’re hankering for the sea, I hope you’ll grab a cuppa and a snack and enjoy this tutorial on my YouTube channel.

While this is not a “step by step” tutorial for all the elements, you will find the basic instructions and measurements in the description box that is below the video on my YouTube channel.  And of course, you can find a linked supply list below this post.

I hope you enjoyed our little stroll by the shore today.  I’m listing this folio in my Etsy shop, just in case you are interested.

Thanks so much for stopping by, friends!

I keep having another look as there is a lot to enjoy about the ins and outs of this project. I love it that stamperia are producing embellies for the older designs as I still have a box full of their older papers in the stash.

All well here, raining all the time is a bit frustrating although seeing so much green is lovely too. Nine days until we move, the stash on board is slowly being packed, handy as its let me know what I have for the craft room.

What a beautiful folio, Kathy! I can smell the salt air and feel the sand beneath my feet. I love the design and pretty images on each and every page. The sentiments are just wonderful, especially the one on the front. Thank you for sharing! Hugs!

What a great throwback Thursday tutorial! The beach theme is delightful on this cold morning-love all the flaps and pockets. It’s enjoyable going along with your thought process as you create. Thank you for sharing.
