Stamperia Sweet Winter Wall Hanging for the Really Reasonable Ribbon December Blog Hop
Hello, Friends! This Stamperia Sweet Winter Wall Hanging is my inspiration piece for the Really Reasonable Ribbon December 2022 Blog Hop. You should be coming here from Gloria’s lovely blog.
The December Winter Carnival Ribbons take me right back to my high school days, when our small town hosted a winter carnival during Christmas break. There was a snow sculpture contest, ice skating, hot chocolate stands, and all kinds of winter fun. The beautiful ribbons in this month’s Ribbon Club are delightful. Take a peek:
The soft pink and aqua shades were a perfect match for my Stamperia Sweet Winter papers, so I got busy stitching up a little winter wall hanging to brighten the grey, chilly days of the season.
Frame it with Ribbon
First, create a mixed media background. Use collage medium to piece together scraps of pretty papers over a 5×7 cardstock base. Trim off any papers that overhang the edge of the cardstock base. Then run the background through your die cutting machine using a 3D embossing folder to create a raised design. Now dry brush ivory paint over the embossed areas to highlight them. Then rub a little metallic wax over the top to really make the embossed areas pop.
Now you are ready to create your satin ribbon border. Cut (2) 5″ lengths of the 3/8″ aqua satin ribbon and (2) 7″ lengths. Miter the corners and then machine stitch onto the cardstock base. Match up the mitered corners as you go. Now you are ready to decorate your panel.
Make a Scene
Cluster die cut foliage with chipboard elements from the paper collection in the bottom corner of the panel. Use foam tabs between layers to add extra dimension.
Now create a flower grouping on the opposite side of the wall hanging. Anchor this with a pretty pink satin bow and some silver metallic string.
Attach the wall hanging to a small metal hanger, then top it off with a pop of color courtesy of Garden Rose Delicate Stitched Satin. Accent with chipboard snowflakes, resin pieces and charms from your stash.
On With the Hop!
Now hop on over and see what paper pretties Cheryl has in store for you. Be sure to finish up the hop over on the RRR Blog where you can answer Bonnie’s Question of the Month and be entered to win your very own December Ribbon Club Assortment.
You’ll find a linked supply list below this post.
Enjoy the hop!
Cheerio,

WOW! Some lucky lady gets to hand this beauty on their wall! LOVE the layers!
Sewing a ribbon frame is a novel idea…looks lovely on this project. The pops of brighter colors are nice against the more subdued Stamperia Pink Christmas. Love all the snowflakes!! No matter what colors are used, snowflakes tell a winter story!! Beautiful project!
This wall hanging is so beautiful, Kathy! When I saw “Stamperia” in my email notice, I couldn’t wait to open it! This collection is absolutely dreamy. I love the darling little girl and her puppy and the way everything is surrounded by that beautiful ribbon border. What a great winter/Christmas decor this will make! Thank you for sharing! Hugs!
