Sweet as Honey Bee Themed Card
Hello, Friends! Just popping in very quickly today with this Sweet as Honey Bee Themed card made with Really Reasonable Ribbon. Summer is in full swing, and the honeybees are working overtime in our gardens. How thankful I am for these industrious creatures. So today’s post is dedicated to our friends the bees who make sweet honey for us to enjoy.
Do you ever use your ribbons to create a border on your cards and layouts? I love the texture, color and pattern that layered ribbons add. For this card I topped Daffodil Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon with Bold Yellow Check Ribbon from the July Ribbon Club Assortment. They complement the Country Craft Creations Bee House papers perfectly, don’t you think? Everything about this card makes me happy, happy, happy!
Bees, Bows, Blossoms and the Hive
Here’s a neat trick for using up little snips of ribbon. First, tie a loopy bow from Daffodil Satin. Then cut fishtail banners on the ends of small piece of Bold Yellow Plaid. Next, fold the ribbon in half and adhere it on top of the big bow. Tuck in some natural burlap string and a button to finish the bow cluster. Isn’t it pretty?
Now create a scene with a Reneabouquets Printed Beautiful Board Sugar Bee Hive, Lemon Blossom Honeybee, and honeycomb background. Pop these elements up on foam tabs to add lots of depth and dimension to the composition.
Add another pop of color with Little Birdie Wendy Boho Vibes flowers. Then spatter a little diluted Gathered Twigs Distress Ink over the card to lend that organic, botanical shabby chic finish we all love so much!
A Peek Inside
Turn your card into a gift by adding a little tea wallet and honey stick to the interior. I love it when a card doubles as a gift, don’t you?
I hope you are all enjoying some lazy days this summer. I’ve been busy as a bee in my studio, working on a big reveal that I’ll share here tomorrow. You won’t want to miss it!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Cheerio,
kathy
This is so scrumptious Kathy. Love the bees and hive, and the flowers are perfect. Love seeing you use so many ReneaBouquets products too.
Kathy, this is such a wonderful summery card. I just love bees and have enjoyed them in my garden this year. This card is so pretty with the little bee images and that sweet bee hive. Those flowers are gorgeous and I can almost taste the sweet honey in that honey comb! Thank you for sharing! Hugs!
Ohhhh myyyy goodness!!!! This card is so adorably bee-utiful!!! Simply luv all your details again on this one!!! The yellow ribbons, the real looking honeycomb with those prills, that big bee-utiful bee and those papers …just luv every single vintage looking inch of this card Kathy! I just can’t hardly wait to get my new glasses, praying that I can see good enough to start creating again! It’s been a long, long, long 6 weeks. But …just luv all your beautiful creations you’ve created lately Kathy, every single one! Big hugs, Suzy Q
I LOVE creating bee themed cards!! There are so many sweet images that can be used as focal points. Look at all the detail on that paper bee on the card front…bee-utiful embellishment. That pop of fuchsia is a nice contrast to the rest of the colors. I have a beekeeper friend who has a honey business. I always enjoy surprising her with a bee card from my newest summer collection…this year it’s the bees in Simple Vintage Lemon Twist from Simple Stories. Such creative fun for me!! thanks for this sweet inspiration, Kathy!
Beautiful card Kathy! I do love seeing the bees in the garden, I have a lot of herbs that are in flower now and there is a constant buzz in the garden. 🙂 Have a great hump day and enjoy the rest of your week.
This card fascinates me, Kathy! It feels like I’m looking at an actual beehive and watch out for that big bee on top! Lol! It’s just beautiful, my friend! I’ve always said it, and I will keep on saying it, you have a gift from God and definitely know how to use it! Stay safe and slow down! Love and Hugs!
This card is so cheerful – love the combination of all the ribbons and the honeycomb element is great – beautiful card, and you are so right, the bees are extremely necessary for our gardens.
Love this Kathy and all of the CCC paper is amazing! Tomorrow’s big reveal scares me – should I just throw my wallet at it now – haha!!!! Looking forward to it.
Oh this is so un-bee-lievably beautiful!! Love all the texture and perfect touch of gunginess!!
