Heartfelt Creations July Alumni Blog Hop: Nautical Rose Tutorial & Really Reasonable Ribbon

Hello, Friends!  Welcome to the July 2016 Heartfelt Creations Alumni Blog Hop!  I’m the first stop on the hop this month.  From here you will go to Vicki’s lovely blog.  Today I’m sharing a Nautical Rose Tutorial using the Botanical Rose stamps and dies from Heartfelt Creations.  I’ve paired it up with gorgeous satin ribbon and trims from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Directions

NOTE: I Ink the edges of all cut papers with Tea Dye and Iced Spruce, Tea Dye and Bundled Sage Distress Inks.

Create a 4.75″ x 5.75″ card base from Soft Sky Cardstock.

Cut a slightly smaller panel of sea green designer paper.

Cut a 4.57″ x 3.75″ rectangle of sand colored designer paper and place in center of sea green paper.

Stitch both papers togehter and then glue onto card base.

Cut a 3.75″ x 5.75″ fishtail banner from anchor patterned paper.  Stitch onto ivory burlap. Cut a 4″ length of Ivory Woven Burlap.  Separate the fibers gently and then attach to the top of the banner flag.  Add brad to center.  Center and glue onto card base.

Cut 2 sets of Everyday Hero Die, one from ivory paper, one from designer paper.  Cut in half.  Back the designer paper with the ivory paper to create a shadow, as seen in photo.

Trim the anchor journal card.  Stitch onto ivory burlap, then mat on brown cardstock. Snip the swirls on the Everyday Hero Die so that they can be slipped over the edge of the mat. Glue in place. Attach to card with foam dimensionals.

Tie double loop bow with sage satin ribbon.  Top with natural burlap string bow.  Glue onto side of card.

Stamp 2 sets of Botanical Roses onto designer paper with Versamagic Ink.  Heat emboss with clear embossing powder.  Die cut with Botanical Wings Die.  Sponge copper ink in center and Cracked Pistachio on the edges.  Shape with Flower Shaping tool kit.  Stack together.  Glue onto bow cluster.  Paint petals with Clear Rock Candy Distress Crackle Ink.

Finish the inside of the card with anchor paper and sentiment stamp.
