Mother’s Day Beach Gift Basket and Tags with Petaloo and Authentique
Hello, Friends! Welcome to the Merry Month of May! In a few short days it will be Mother’s Day. Do you have your cards and gifts all made? If not, I’m here to help with a super fun Mother’s Day Beach Gift Basket and Tags.
I found this pasteboard berry basket when I was packing up the studio to move, and when I received the bright, tropical Authentique Utopia collection in my Petaloo Design Team package, I knew they were a match, so I went to work on this Mother’s Day Beach Basket and Tags goodie pack.
I started out painting my berry basket inside and out with a coat of Studio Matte Multi Medium. This served to strengthen the basket and made it a little more waterproof as well. Next, I applied Matte Medium to my Petaloo Burlap trim and glued it all the way around the basket like a belly band. I added a row of Pink Burlap trim around the lip of the basket. Layering on pretty flowers, a seashell charm, fibers and memo pin title make it feel fun and festive.
Then I went to work creating a series of tags to tuck inside the basket. I found that Ranger Manila Tags worked great when I trimmed about 1/5″ off the bottom edge. After inking all the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, I layered on fun papers and images from the Authentique Utopia collection. Tucking in Petaloo flowers and little beach goodies I found in my stash made each tag into a mini gift all its own.
The back of each tag is covered with more paper and a Life Card from the Authentique collection. You can write Mom a note, share a memory or attach a photo for even more fun.
The paper collection is filled with fun elements like this little banner. And the canvas Dogwood Blossoms and burlap trims are such a great color match!
I had fun making this DIY Textured Elements blossom! I love the layers!
I love all the texture the Petaloo trims add to each tag, don’t you?
And you can never have too many flowers for Mom on Mother’s Day!
These canvas blossoms were spattered with a little Dylusions Linen Spray, and it was so much funj, I went ahead and spattered the artwork, too.
Here’s a look at the reverse side of another tag. You could even take pictures of your Mother’s Day celebration and save them here. Wouldn’t that be fun?
I had just enough room at the back of my Mother’s Day Beach Gift Basket to tuck in a little altered slider box. I just love how cute this is with Canvas Dogwoods and burlap string!
The box was just the right size to hold 5 Fun Size candy bars. And in case you were wondering, yes…3 Musketeers is my favorite!
How fun would it be to make Mom a tropical breakfast with a Pina Colada and some fresh pineapple and then tuck this darling Mother’s Day Beach Gift Basket onto the tray? You could hide a gift card, Spa Getaway or other small gift into the basket, too.
I hope you found some fun ideas here. I know this Mom loves the beach…and chocolate, and cute tags and pretty flowers…so I’m pretty sure your Mom would be thrilled with a Mother’s Day Beach Gift Basket, too!
Thanks for stopping by!
Cheerio,
kathy
