Hey, Chickie! Easter Treat Bag

Hey Chickie! Easter Treat Bag with RRR Welcome Spring Ribbon Club Assortment

Hello Ribbon Lovers!  There is something special about fluffy little Easter chicks that makes us all go, “Awwwwww, cute.”  With that in mind,  I thought it would be fun to work up an Easter Treat Bag using the glorious Welcome Spring Ribbon Club Assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  These ribbons are the color of hyacinths and apple blossoms and daffodils, and baby green leaves and all spring colors we love so very much.  Take a peeky:

Totally scrumptious, right?  They made me think of the color palette in the Graphic 45 Sweet Sentiments paper collection.  So I pulled that out of my stash along with a middy bitty kraft bag and went to work.

The colors of this bag make me think of the lilac bushes that used to flourish in my home town when I was growing up in Vermont.  I topped my little bag with a loopy bow tied with glorious purple satin ribbon from the Ribbon Club Assortment.  It is the perfect color match for this collection, and you know how hard it can be to match purple! The tag inside the bag is topped with scrumptious purple/pink plaid ribbon, also from the Ribbon Club Assortment.

Have you seen the beautiful new  English Roses Bonnie is carrying in the shop? I used a purple one as the base for my flower cluster then surrounded it with apple blossoms, sweetheart blossoms and spiral stamens. I tied a teeny tiny bow in the center of my itty bitty button using Ivory Burlap String, and then tucked in some stick pins and a little brass chick charm in for good luck.

I tucked a dressed up in its Easter Best Graphic 45 Staples tag inside the bag, along with an individually wrapped chocolate.  This little Easter Treat Bag would be the perfect little surprise for a friend or co-worker, and it would mail nicely, too.

Girls’ Night Out Tag in a Bag

Crafty Secrets Tag in a Bag: Girls’  Night Out

Hello, Friends!  Every once in a while, I enjoy a good Girls’ Night Out, don’t you?  As much as we all love the men in our lives, there’s something really special about time spent in the company of women.  Last night, I enjoyed a belated birthday present and Girls’ Night out with my sweet daughter, and it got me thinking about how important it is to spend time with our gal pals.  When I sat down to create today, I wanted to make something to celebrate the special friendships we share with our girlfriends.  I found some super girly, super fun Crafty Secrets goodies and used them to make a pink and black Girls’ Night out Tag in a Bag.

Kathy by Design/Girls Night out Tag in a Bag 01Nothing says “girly girl party” like this pink and black color combo.  I painted the edges of a small kraft paper bag with Black Soot Distress Paint and then covered it with black and white polka dot paper from our Halloween Jumbo Digital Download. Next, I decorated it with  pink lipstick kisses from Girlfriends Homespun Cotton Scraps and the wonderful pink corset, clock and tag from Wonderful Women Heartwarming Vintage Stickers.

Girls Night out Tag in a Bag 02I used a scrap of the pink polka dot paper from our Radiant Digital Paper Collection as an accent paper.  The corset was matted on black and pink cardstock and then dusted with glitter.  So girly!

Girls Night out Tag in a Bag 03Topping the bag with pink gingham ribbon and black satin ribbon reinforces the color palette.  And then adding some sparkly white iridescent metallic string to the top of the tag adds even more texture and shine.

Girls Night out Tag in a Bag 04And of course, I had to add some pink rhinestones, stickpins,  pink bead and berry spray and pink and white Chrysanthemum to complete the look!

Girls Night out Tag in a Bag 05This is the tag that is tucked inside the little bag. I painted the edges of a white die cut tag with Black Soot Distress Ink. It’s covered with more of the pink dot paper from the Radiant Digital Paper Kit .  I cut out the ticket and fancy shoes from the Cotton Scraps, matting them on pink and black cardstock.

Girls Night out Tag in a Bag 06 I die cut another doily from the black and white damask paper in the Halloween Jumbo Digital Download and topped it with sparkly black brads.  The sassy lady was fussy cut from the Girlfriends Creative Scraps as is the cute ticket.

This little tag in a bag would be such a fun hostess gift for a girls’ night out, or a wonderful birthday card…especially if you tuck a little gift card or individually wrapped chocolate inside the bag along with the tag.  I can see these made in all kinds of themes: bridal showers, baby showers, housewarming, Christmas, Secret Pal…the list goes on and on!  The great news is that the Cotton Scraps, Creative Scraps and Stickers are all on sale in the Crafty Secrets online store.

What would you put in your tag in a bag?  If you’re interested in purchasing this Girls’ Night Out Tag in a Bag, you can find it in my ETSY shop.
