Heartfelt Creations Wednesday: Cascading Fuchsia Shaker Card
Hello Friends! Welcome to Heartfelt Creations Wednesday. Today, I have a super fun Cascading Fuchsia shaker card and tutorial to share with you.
I am just loving the beautiful Decorative Oval Die that comes with the Cascading Fuchsia collection! There are so many different ways to use it: as a layering piece, a frame, ornaments and as you can see here…layered over clear acrylic cardstock! It’s such a versatile die.
I wanted to share this detail shot so you can see the way the cascading fuchsia blossoms are shaped. I added a light shimmer to mine by sponging them with Violet Metallic 3-D Stamp Paint. Can you spot the pretty sequins I tucked inside the card?
I created a big poufy bow with light, airy white organza ribbon that I topped with a loopy bow made from White Iridescent Metallic String. I topped this off with a pretty button I found in my stash. Violet pearls were added to the center of each diamond. I wanted to keep my embellishments simple so that the die cut and gorgeous Cascading Fuchsias could take center stage.
The flowers were fussy cut from the paper collection and layered beneath the blossoms. You can read in the tutorial how I created the frame and shaker panel. I did sew the evacuated card front to the clear acrylic cardstock, but glue or double stick tape would work, too. One of the things I love about this card is that the inside is just as pretty as the outside.
I decorated the top inside panel with more of the pretty lattice paper that I used on the front cover, and then added another card front and tag from the collection.
You can tuck a gift card behind the tag, as I left enough area unglued to allow for that.
There’s a complete supply list and step by step tutorial below, in case you want to make your own Cascading Fuchsia Shaker Card.
Thanks for stopping by!

Cut a 5″ x 7″ card front from the paper collection. I used the one with the lattice, leaves and flowers. Use your craft knife to evacuate the artwork from the frame. Fussy cut the leaves from the artwork and set aside. Cut a 5″ x 7″ rectangle from clear acrylic cardstock. Stitch (or glue) to the evacuated frame. Cut a coordinating 5″ x 7″ panel from the paper collection. Cut a 5″ x 7.5″ rectangle from pink cardstock. Score at 1/2″ from the top edge and line up the 1/2″ lip over the top of the designer paper panel so that you have created a top fold card with a pink cardstock base. Place 1/2″ wide foam adhesive tape all around the edges of the front of the designer paper rectangle. Fill with sequins. Peel off the liner and carefully glue down the clear cardstock frame over this rectangle. Press down to seal. This is your shaker card base.
Die cut the Decorative Oval from white cardstock. Center over the front of the card and use Dries Clear Glue to attach over the clear cardstock, as shown.
Stamp and Die cut several sets of the Cascading Fuchsia stamp onto white cardstock using Jet Black Archival Ink. (I used an entire piece of 8.5″ x 11″ white cardstock) Die cut. Use a sponge dauber to color both the fronts and the backs with the chalk inks. Dilute the Viva Décor metallic paints with a little water and sponge over front and back of the die cut flowers to add shine. Shape with the tool kit. Shape the fussy cut leaves with the largest nib from the tool kit and arrange on the card front, gluing down as you go. Add the flowers. Place small pearls on the stamens and in the center of the Oval Die cut. Tie white organza ribbon around the base of the card and add a triple bow to the top. Tie a loopy bow with iridescent metallic string and glue down. Add the fancy button.
Use the Luggage and Tags Die to cut the sentiment ticket from the paper collection. Secure to the card front with foam adhesive.
Finish the inside of the card by covering the top and bottom sections with paper from the collection. Die cut a tag from the paper collection with the Luggage and Tags Die. Stamp with the sentiment from Classic Message Cling Stamp Set . Top with a bow, if desired. Add to the inside of the card, as shown.
