Fairy Happy Birthday Shaker Card Tutorial: June 2024 Birthday Card of the Month

Hello, Friends!  It’s Wonderful Wednesday and I have a Fairy Happy Birthday Shaker Card Tutorial to share with you.  It’s the 3rd installment of our Fairy Month Tutorials, and our June 2024 Birthday Card of the Month.  If you missed out on the Fairy Tag Box Tutorial and the Fairy Banner Tutorial, you can get caught up now.

Once again, we will be using products from Ciao Bella Enchanted Land and paper pretties from Reneabouquets.  You can find a linked supply list below this post.  I’ve also tagged the Enchated Land products in the video as they are a little bit hard to find.

Before we jump to the video tutorial, I’d like to share a few of my favorite elements on this lovely card.

The Fairiest of Them All Shaker Box

This might be one of my very favorite shaker box projects, friends.  I hope you can spy the sweet little mushroom house in the corner of the Reneabouquets Blue Patina Violet Frame.  My goal was to create an illusion of our lovely “Fairiest of Them All” floating above her mushroom mansion. I think I want to  live there when I grow up.  How about you?

See that pretty metal clip in the top left hand corner?  It’s actually a bookmark, and slides out from behind the front cover.  It’s another goodie from the Reneabouquets shop.  I attached a sweet fairy trinket charm below the cabochon, but it flipped when I was taking this photo.  It shows up in other photos, though.

The Woodland Snail

Snail images fill me with delight.  How about you?  This handsome woodland snail is moon-bathing on a wooden stump surrounded by fragrant flowers and soft feathers left behind by a sweet songbird. .  Our fairy spilled some of the “Dreams Come True” beads from her magical bottle, so he’s having lovely dreams.

TIP:  Save the center from chipboard wreaths!  The leafy chipboard piece beneath our wood slice was once the center of a chipboard wreath!

Butterfly Airlines

Our Fairiest of Them All travels in style on a glittering butterfly steed.  Looks like some of the Dreams Come True beads spilled out as they were coming in for a landing, doesn’t it?

A Peek Inside

Here’s a quick peek inside the card.  You will see more details, learn how to create the shaker box and the card front in the video tutorial below.

I hope you’ll grab a cuppa and a snack and enjoy this video tutorial.

We have one more week of Fairy Month tutorials to look forward to.  Next Wednesday will be our Flower of the Month tutorial.  I’d love to hear your thoughts about Fairy Month, and am open to suggestions for other themed monthly tutorials.  Next month will be Christmas in July, but would you enjoy a sunflower themed month?  Maybe sewing?  Or beach?  Let me hear from you in the comment section below, and I’ll see what I can do.

You can find a linked supply list below this post.  And I’ve provided basic measurements in the description box below this video on my YouTube channel.

Wishing you a Wonderful Wednesday!

Ciao Bella Enchanted Land Fairy Banner Tutorial

From Scallop Label to Banner Pennant

It’s always exciting when you find a new way to make a banner!  Turns out that if you flip a Spellbinders Scallop Labels and Tag die upside down, it makes a wonderful shaped pennant on a banner!  The die set has 11 pieces: 5 nesting labels (or pennants) and one cute tag.  I’ll show you how to pair these dies up in the video tutorial below.

Mushroom Houses

OK, so true confession: I have a soft spot for mushroom houses.  This collection features several whimsical designs, and I ant to live in one of them when I grow up!  Embellish the pennant with a sparkly Reneabouquets Butterfly, Bitty Hummingbird and a Spellbinders Forest Mushrooms Wax Seal, and you are good to go!

Mushroom Nest of jewels

How about these darling mushrooms all snugged up in a little nest with fairy jewels and itty bitty posies? Does it get any more enchanted than this?

Well, we could add a lovely Reneabouquets frame, turn it into a shaker box and add another sparkly butterfly.  That’s pretty magical, don’t you think?

Or, we could pay a visit to this charming itty bitty mushroom house in an itty bitty mason jar.  Yes, friends…I was like a child at play while making this project.  It was good for my soul!
