Woodland Christmas Tag Card

Polly's Paper Studio Woodland Shabby Tag Christmas Card with Little Birdie Crafts Poinsettias by Kathy Clement Photo 01

Woodland Christmas Tag Card

Hello, Friends! Let’s get this wonderful Wednesday started with a cheery Woodland Christmas Tag Card.  Grab a cuppa and let’s get started!

What do you do when you have bits and pieces from favorite paper collections?  If you are like me, you put them together to create a lovely hodgepodge style card.  This 6×6 creation uses leftover bits from my Button Farm Club Cosy Christmas Card Kit.  Pair them up with a Shabby Woodland Christmas Tag from Polly’s Paper Etsy and some gorgeous Poinsettias.  Next, tie a bow with Little Birdie Tartan Ribbon.  Then tuck in some  Gold Glitter Stars and this hodgepodge comes together as a visual treat!

TIP: Create a dimensional background with an old Christmas Snowflake Ornament!

TIP: Stack itty bitty fussy cut images together to create a big visual impact.  First, back the images with foam tape to create dimension.  Then top them with a petite poinsettia.

Now dress up the inside of the card with a box pocket, more bits and pieces of paper and some lovely treats.

TIP: Product packaging is often pretty enough to use on a card!  The Cosy Christmas Tags packet had this lovely botanical print that was just too nice to toss in the trash bin.

Dress up a gift packet of hot chocolate with the product packaging! Then tie a couple of tags on with rustic twine. Now top with a Little Birdie gold glitter star and you’ve got a very pretty presentation.  Then tuck in a mini candy cane stirrer and a Ghiradelli Chocolate Snowman to complete the gift.

I love the challenge of using up all the bits and pieces of a card kit, don’t you?

Cosy Winter Christmas Window Shopping Card

Cosy Winter Window Shopping Card P13 by Kathy Clement for Really Reasonable Ribbon Photo 01

Cosy Winter Christmas Window Shopping Card for Really Reasonable Ribbon

Hello, Friends!  Let’s do a little Cosy Winter Window Shopping this morning, shall we?  When I was growing up in my small Vermont town, I loved to stroll the winter sidewalks with my mother.  All of Main Street (the whole block!) was decked out in Christmas lights. In spite of the icy air, every shop window beckoned us to linger just a few seconds longer to take in the tantalizing Christmas goodies on display.  Salvation Army bell ringers braved the cold as their cheery chimes rang out up and down the street. We rarely had any spare coins in our family, but somehow Mom always managed to save 10 dimes for me to drop into their black kettles.  Ah, such lovely memories of a simpler, gentler time!

I sought to capture the simple warmth and nostalgia of that memory in this sweet little card.  Evergreen boughs, jingle bells,  Merry Christmas ribbon and red posies adorn my shop window.

No bustling sidewalks here, but I do love the border created from Tan Delicate Stitched Satin and Joy Sherry Satin Ribbons from  the November Ribbon Club Assortment.

You can’t see it here, but this evergreen bough sparkles with glittering snowflakes.

A Peek Inside

Ribbon warms up the inside of the card as well.  I love the texture and pattern the Merry Christmas Ribbon adds to the treat pocket.

If you were lucky enough to grow up in a small town, perhaps you enjoyed the excitement of Christmas window shopping, too.  At any rate, I’d love to hear some of your Christmas memories in the comment section below.

Cosy Winter Snow Globe Christmas Card

Cosy Winter Snow Globe Christmas Card for Really Reasonable Ribbon

Hello, Friends!  Grab your scarf and mittens and join me for a peek inside this Cosy Winter Snow Globe Christmas card. I happen to love snow globes.  My Great Aunt Norah had a wonderful snow globe collection when I was a little girl.  Tiny white churches, children skating on icy ponds, neat and tidy villages decked out in holiday greenery,  reindeer and fir trees filled the heavy glass globes of these beautiful worlds.  And I, like a benevolent giant from outside that magical universe, loved to shake them and bring to life a whirling blizzard inside the dome.  As the snowfall settled to a few drifting flakes, the scene within once again settled into a momentary calm.  Then I just couldn’t help myself, and had to shake it up all over again.  Can you relate?

So imagine my delight when I opened my November Ribbon Club this month and found this charming Winter Neighborhood Satin Ribbon waiting there for me!  I knew immediately that I wanted to pair it up with this snow globe image from P13’s Cosy Winter paper collection.

Building the Layers

Cosy Winter Snow Globe Christmas Card by Kathy Clement for Really Reasonable Ribbon Photo 01

  • Begin by creating a 5 1/2″ square card base from burgundy cardstock.
  • Then cut a 5 1/4″ square of cream cardstock.
  • Next, mat a 4 7/8″ square of the tag collage paper on a slightly larger panel of green cardstock.  .
  • Now adhere the Winter Neighborhood satin ribbon along the bottom edge.  Leave the ends long and wrap around to  the back side to create neat and clean edges.
  • Then wrap the JOY Sherry Satin ribbon around the top edge .
  • Cut a 1″ wide belly band from evergreen paper.  Center and adhere.  Now wrap this with Tan Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon and Winter Neighborhood Satin Ribbon.
  • Next, mat the 4″ square snow globe image on a slightly larger square of green cardstock.  Locate the ephemera snow globe from the cut apart page.  Add glitter and small star sequins to the globe.  When it has dried, back it with foam tape and adhere over the snow globe image on the 4×4 square.

  • Now fussy cut the pine branch, add glitter, back with foam strips and adhere.  Tie a burlap string bow and top with a flower.
  • Glitter a Reneabouquets snowflake and adhere in the corner.  Add a flat back pearl to the center.

Finally, create a bow cluster with Vintage Christmas Plaid Ribbon.  Top with burlap string bow, faux greenery and tuck in some glittery gold stars.

A Peek Inside

Create a pocket inside the card.  Line it with the Merry Christmas Satin and tuck in some wintry chocolate treats for the perfect finish!

This is a great little gift for friends, neighbors and co-workers.  It’s quick to make, and fun to receive.

I hope I shared some tips, tricks, and ideas for using this month’s Ribbon Club.  If so, I’d love to hear from you in the comment section below.

Cosy Winter Christmas Card Kit for The Button Farm Club

Button Farm Club Cosy Winter Christmas Card Kit by Kathy Clement Photo 01

Button Farm Club Cosy Winter Christmas Card Kit Reveal

Hello, Friends!  It’s the perfect time to reveal this Button Farm Club Cosy Winter Christmas Card KitFragrant evergreen boughs, crackling fireplaces, and tantalizing brown paper packages tied up with string are some of my favorite things about Christmas!  This Quarterly Card Subscription Club, this captures all the charm, beauty and nostalgia of a family Christmas celebrated in a snug little cabin in the woods. Rusty jingle bells, wood buttons and rusted embellishments add to that cozy cabin  feel.

Snowman Shaker Cards

Snowmen, anyone? Let’s create two darling snowman shaker cards to get the party started.

Fancy Fold Cards

Fancy fold cards are just plain fun to  make and exciting to receive.  Best of all, they fold flat for easy mailing!   This clever design offers a gift card pocket and a little sentiment panel for your personal greeting.

I could have called this kit “adventures in Fancy Fold Cards because we make so many different kinds.

Don’t you love this paper collection?  Adding in some rusty embellishments and wooden buttons really amps up the home in the woods vibe.

And you knew there had to be an easel card in this kit somewhere, didn’t you?

Brag Book or Stocking Stuffer?  You choose!

Itty bitty packages hold big time appeal for me.  This darling 3 1/2″ pocket and tag folio is small in size, but big on interactive elements.

You could easily turn this into a brag book for a distant grandparent, auntie or uncle.  But it would also make a fantastic stocking stuffer, mini December Daily or gift card holder!

I may have gone a little overboard with all the flips, flaps, pockets and pull outs in this tiny treasure.  And you will be thrilled with how easy it is to  make!

Slimline and Easy to Mail Cards

Because it is Christmas, and I know you will want to mail some of these cards to friends and family, I tried to include a few simple to make/easy to mail cards in this kit.

We opted for “flatter” embellishments, smaller bows and no dimensional flowers on these cards.  But that does not mean boring!  You can fold this easel card flat for mailing, but it has loads of dimension when you stand it upright!

And I love the sweet simplicity of this card design!

The Card Folio

Because y’all have told me how much you love making card folios, I was sure to include one in this kit.  As a bonus, it has a shaker pouch on the cover.

Trust me…there’s plenty of fun tucked inside this easy to make design!

We clean up our scraps with these two darling gift tags.  Imagine how cute these will be tied onto a cookie plate or loaf of homemade bread.
