Let’s Make a Stack of Cards

Let’s Make a Stack of Cards with Photoplay Hello, Lovely

Hello, Friends!  Let’s make a stack of cards today with Photoplay Hello, Lovely Collection.  About once a month, I select a “mostly used but still good” paper collection from the Closet of Inspiration and Delight.  Then I go to work on creating a stack of 12 simple, but pretty note cards.

This accomplishes two things: I use up a paper collection that’s been languishing in the closet.  And after a couple of hours of work, I have a lovely pile of little notecards ready to go.  Most of these end up as little “extra helpings” in my Etsy shop shipments.  But it’s also very nice to have a blank card at your fingertips when you need to write a quick note.

Sound like fun?  It is!  Let’s dig in , shall we?

Photoplay Hello, Lovely

Today’s pick for Let’s Make a Stack is this pretty paper collection from PhotoPlay.  I love the color palette, the patterns are right up my alley, and the sentiment stamps are wonderful.  But I have to be honest with you.  I really don’t care for most of the 3×4 focal images that come in the collection.  Does that ever happen to you?

To remedy this situation, I decided to die cut some of my patterned paper with Spellbinders Picot Petite Ovals Die.  Then I just added one of my stamped and inked sentiments as the focal image.

To save time, I decided to stamp the same sentiment over and over instead of using a bunch of different sentiments.  After all, the point of this particular crafty adventure is to make as many cards as possible in the least amount of time.  Repetition saves time.

I also die cut several of the Crafter’s Companion Entwined Wreaths.  Adding a circular element like a wreath to a square card softens all those square corners and adds a lovely, feminine touch to the composition.

I did use 4 of the 3×4 sentiments that I liked.  Then I dressed everything up with white burlap string bows, sequins and Pastel Sweetheart Blossoms.  I really like the way the cards came out, and I hope you will enjoy watching them come together in today’s video tutorial.

Pretty Purple Posies Card Embellishment Tutorial for Throwback Thursday

Hello, Friends!  It’s Throwback Thursday, and I have this Purple Posies Card Embellishment Tutorial to share with you.  I was in a purple mood, so I went digging in the Closet of Inspiration and Delight looking for royal hued goodies.  My eye fell upon Prima Lavender (2017) and the plan for this card began to form in my mind’s eye.

Since I had a healthy pile of scraps to work with, I decided that this would be one of my “use your scraps” creations.  This means I limit myself to paper that has already cut and used in a previous project.  It’s always an adventure to see what is available in those stacks of pretty paper scraps, isn’t it?

The pretty purple posies are a gift from my friend Becky In Montana.  And the pretty wreath is cut with a new die from Crafters Companion.  It’s called Entwined Wreath, and I just love it!  Cut two layers for maximum impact.  Then put foam tabs between the layers to really make i stand out.

A Peek Inside

By the time I was done finishing the inside of this card, I used up a nice pile of scrap papers.  That always makes me feel so good!

Add a flap and pocket to the top of the card.  Then tuck in a journal card.  You can add a photo, or just write a nice note here.

And, of course, there is a little treat pocket!  This one holds a gift wrapped tea bag, chocolate, and a bookmark along with another little journal card.   I’ll show you how to make the the little tea wallet and chocolate wallet in the video tutorial below.
