Authentique December Desk Calendar Tutorial

Hello, Friends!  Are you ready for your Authentique December Desk Calendar Tutorial?  This is the 12th and final in this year-long series.  And as I say every month…this one is my favorite!  Just look at that handsome Santa on the cover!  It’s impossible to look at him without smiling!

Like the other 11 calendars in the series, this one measures 6″ x 6″.  I did make some small alterations to the mini folios tucked inside, but other than that, it’s business as usual.  Don’t you just love this color palette for Christmas?

And how about this adorable Rudolph button on the pull out folio tab?  He cracks me up! With Rudolf along for the ride, Santa will reach his destination safely– even if it’s a foggy night,  Phew!

Here’s a peek inside the pull out folio.  These images are just too darling for words!

And just look at all the goodies stuffed inside this little folio!  Plenty of room for holiday photos and journaling here!

If you’re ready to get your craft on, I’ve prepared a quick and easy video tour and tutorial for you.

If you’re new to this series, you can find all the previous video tutorials in my YouTube Authentique Play List.  (There are ton of other great video tutorials there, too!)

I’m a bit sad to see this series come to an end.  It’s been so much fun to share these monthly calendar tutorials with you during 2020.  Many of you have contacted me to let me know that you are making the entire series as a holiday gift.  Others have adapted the design to use with other paper collections as birthday cards.  What a great idea!

I don’t know what Authentique has planned for 2021.  I’ve  heard a rumor that there’s a new calendar collection in the works.  If so, I’ll come up with a new series for the New Year.  Would you like that?  Please let me know in the comment section below.

Be Thankful:  Authentique November Desk Calendar Tutorial

Hello, Friends!  Hard to believe it, but we are due for our Authentique November Desk Calendar Tutorial!  I don’t know about you, but this year seems to have moved along faster than usual.  At the same time, it seems like it has gone on forever.  So I really love the reminder on the front of this month’s calendar to, “Be kind. Be thoughtful. Be genuine.  But most of all be thankful.” Yes, yes and yes again!  Thankfulness has chased away my blues more than once this year!  How about you?

Just like the preceding 10 desk calendars in this series, the November calendar measures 6″ x 6″.  The warm autumn hues, classic patterns and vintage style images really warm my heart this month.

And if acorns don’t say “autumn” then I don’t know what does!  I’ve added some adorable acorn buttons to dress up the front of this desk calendar.   Really Reasonable Ribbon Cappuccino Satin with a Grosgrain Edge is the perfect shade for this month.  And of course, I had to add some burlap string to add that rustic fall vibe. Brush Mixed Earth Tone Cottage Roses with a little Gathered Twigs Distress Ink to add depth and detail to the petals.

Just look at all the gorgeous images and photo folders tucked in to the pull out folio inside the hidden pocket this month!

And of course we love the little wallet sized trifold folios with the silhouette images on the cover!  I changed things up a bit this month…as you will see in the video tutorial.

So, are you ready to get the Authentique November Desk Calendar made?  You only have a few days, so you’d best get on it!  LOL  Here’s a step by step tutorial to guide you along the way.

Only one calendar left for 2020.  Makes me feel a little nostalgic, how about you?  If you need to get caught up on your desk calendars, you can find the other tutorials HERE

Authentique October Desk Calendar Tutorial: Bibbety Bobbity Boo!

Hello, Friends!  My calendar tells me it’s time to get our Authentique October Desk Calendar Tutorial published.  So “Bibbety, Bobbity, Boo!” here you go!  If you’re new to my blog, this has been a year long series using Authentique Paper’s Calendar Collection.  Each month we create a decorative desk calendar that also functions as a memory keeping system.  All the calendars measure 6″ x 6″ and feature an easel style design.  The interior houses mini folios and a hidden pull out folio.  Many of you have told me you are making these as Christmas gifts for family members.  Some of you are using the basic folio design with other paper collections and giving the finished product as a birthday present.  I think both ideas are fabulous!

The Spooktacular October Calendar Collection

Every month, I say, “This month is my favorite.”  That’s how you know this is a great collection, right?  But I really do love these “too cute to spook” October patterns, colors and images, don’t you?

I found some adorable owl buttons in my stash.  My sweet husband, who is always on the lookout for unique embellishments for me, picked these up for me some time ago.  They make the perfect embellishment for the pull out folio.

We change up the design of the pull out folio this month.  Add a pocket and some mini folios to create even more room for photos.  What do you think?

Then we have these adorable silhouette images.  And I found ribbon in my stash that makes me think of candy corn.  How fun is that?

So if you’re ready to get going on your October Desk Calendar, please join me in this YouTube video and we’ll create it together.

If you’d like to find the first 9 folio tutorials, please click HERE.  You’ll also find a linked supply list below this post.

Wow.  Ten months down and just 2 months left to go….and let me tell you…the best is yet to be!

Authentique September Desk Calendar Tutorial

Authentique September Desk Calendar Tutorial

Hello, Friends!  There’s a hint of fall in the morning air.  It must be time to share my Authentique September Desk Calendar Tutorial!

These summer months have flown by.  I’ve been busy with family birthdays and planning Button Farm kits.  Our little garden produced an abundance of tomatoes. Keeping up with that has felt like a part time job!  I’m afraid it’s kept me away from my blog  more than I’d like.  But the good news is, my freezer is filled with homemade marinara sauce, homemade salsa, and homemade soup base for the cold days that are peering around the corner.

So this month, we are opening the door to my favorite season: fall!  The September desk calendar is all about brightly colored fall leaves, crisp and juicy apples, backpacks and books!

Remember the first day of school?  There was always a new outfit, and a photo before we walked out the door.  Then there was the pack of sharp new pencils, a Pink Pearl eraser and a fresh pack of Crayolas to add to the excitement.  The cover of this nostalgic 6×6″ desk calendar hearkens back to those sweet, innocent days.

Follow the video tutorial below and we will decorate the calendar cover together.  I’ll link the supplies I used, but you can substitute whatever embellishments and ribbon you have in your stash if you don’t  have them.

Don’t you just love the vintage images in the September Calendar collection?  And the color palette is perfect for fall!  You’ll feel all warm and cozy as we make this desk calendar together, I promise!

YouTube Tutorial

As promised, here is the easy to follow video tutorial for this darling desk calendar. I hope you enjoy!

Are kids going back to school in your neck of the woods?  I confess, I miss seeing the moms walking their kids to the school bus stop each morning.  Here’s hoping that we get our kids back in school and back to normal soon!

Authentique August Desk Calendar Tutorial

Hello, Friends!   It’s time for our Authentique August Desk Calendar Tutorial!  August is always the hottest month of the summer, which makes it perfect beach weather.  The cool corals and beachy blues of the August Calendar Collection make me want to break out my flip flops and beach umbrella.

Like the other desk calendars in this series, this 6×6 easel style folio folds for storage.  This way you can pull out year after year.

Store photo, write down important dates, journal memories and tuck little mementos inside the folio.  Add new family photos each year, or make the folio as a birthday gift for August friends and family.

I have to confess, this folio design is one of my all time favorites.  It is compact, but so much goodness built into the design.  If you are new to this calendar series, you can find oher Authentique Calendar projects HERE.

I’d love to hear what you are doing with this desk calendar design.  Some of you have fabulous ideas for ways that you plan to use the design calendars: Christmas gifts and birthday gifts are both popular uses.  But some of you have taken the basic folio design and used it with other collections for some truly magnificent creations.  I love hearing your ideas, so please share them with me in the comment section below.
