The Princess and the Peacock Box Card Tutorial forFrilly and Funkie Things with Wings
Hello, Friends! Welcome to another challenge with the Frilly and Funkie design team. Pamellia is our hostess this time around, and the chosen theme is “Things With Wings.” I think you’ll enjoy The Princess and the Peacock Box Card tutorial I’ve prepared for you. But first, let’s get the details about the challenge from Pamellia:
Create any vintage or shabby chic project with something that has wings. It can be butterflies, bees, dragonflies, whatever you can think of.
The Princess and the Peacock Box Card/Album with Graphic 45 Enchanted Forest
And here it is: The Princess and the Peacock. Is it any wonder that I love to create with these gorgeous papers and images? Swoon!
I’ve been having a lot of fun with my Prima Rust pastes. I love the way they transformed the Ornate Frame die into a tarnished gilt beauty. The paper really looks like tarnished metal, which is so very cool. And speaking of transformation, the image inside the frame was treated to a UTEE beauty treatment. Three layers of embossing, then cracking after cooling create this great cracked glass look.
Rust paste also transformed the tiny crown found on top of the mirror.
Custom dyed seam binding was created with a few spritzes of Lucky Clover and Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink. Once the ribbon had dried, I very lightly misted it with Ranger Mica Spray. Teal Sugared Botanica blossoms help balance the design.
Antique Bronze Filigree metal pieces were also treated with Rust Paste, Mica Spray and Vintaj Patins inks.
A Look Inside The Princess and the Peacock Box Card/Album
I started out making just a standard 7″ x 5″ top fold card, but my imagination got away from me, and I ended up with this hybrid box card instead. It’s a very fun design, but hard to capture in still photos. So, I prepared a short YouTube video tour so you can really get an idea of how the inside mechanisms work.
