Prima Darcelle Hello Friendship Card Folio for Really Reasonable Ribbon
Hello, Friends! If you are a fan of the color purple, I think you’re going to enjoy this Prima Darcelle Hello Friendship Card Folio. This frilly, fancy card is all dressed up with luscious ribbons from the Really Reasonable Ribbon February Club Assortment. I’ve had such a good time with these pretty ribbons this month, and I had just enough of the Light Orchid Diamond Satinto make just one more poufy bow!
Purples can be hard to match, so I used lots of different shades in this fancy card.
A bit of gold metallic string tucked into the bow cluster picks up on the gold foil accents in the flower centers, paper and washi tape border.
A Peek Inside
I love to find ways to use ribbon inside my cards, too. Light Orchid Swiss Dots Satin serves as a closure for the flap page on the top half of the card. And look at all the yummy chocolate in the pocket!
TIP: To make the flap page, cut the patterned paper wider than the base of the card. I added 3 1/4″ to the 5″ base so that I could add a sneaky hidden tea back pocket behind the flap.
Along with the chocolates, honey stick and post card in the pocket, I created this sweet bookmark. (Yes…I am learning how to make my own tassels! Woo-hoo!) Stitch bits and bobs of patterned paper onto a canvas rectangle, then fringe the canvas for a pretty homespun look.
How you do feel about purple? I find myself liking this sophisticated, regal color more and more all the time. I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
Stamperia Provence Pop Up Card for Really Reasonable Ribbon
Hello, Friends! This Stamperia Provence pop up card is a little promise of springtime! The best way I know of to fight the winter blues is with lots and lots of pretty spring papers, ribbons and embellishments. Really Reasonable Ribbon must feel that way, too, because the February Ribbon Club is like a breath of fresh spring air.
Can you smell the lilacs and the lavender blooming? These lovely ribbons inspired me to invite spring breezes into my studio with Stamperia’s Provence paper collection.
Lovely As Springtime
First, create a 5 1/2″ square card base. Just for fun…locate the fold on the BOTTOM edge of the card. (You’ll see why in a moment. )
Cut and mat a 5″ x 5″ panel of the weathered wood paper over white and lilac cardstock.
Next, create a ribbon border by layering Green and Purple Plaid ribbon over Light Orchid Diamond Satin Ribbon. Wrap this around the bottom of the weathered wood panel.
Now cut 2 images from the paper pad. Layer these with a diagonal line. Place foam dots between the front and the back layer.
Then tie two Key Lime Bows for the corners of the card. Top with pretty lavender flowers.
A quick search through my embellishment stash revealed this old Prima sundial frame and an old Melissa Frances resin bird. Layer these together with foam squares between to add dimension. Tie a snippet of Swiss Dots Grape Satin ribbon around a little hinge clip to act as a closure for the card.
A Peek Inside
The front of this card drops down to reveal a pop-up scene made from fussy cut images. Isn’t it fun?
The pocket on the bottom of the card holds a little accordion style folio tied with more Key Lime Ribbon. I tucked in a purple teabag, too.
Spring colors are so welcome in the middle of winter. I hope you find time to play with these beautiful ribbons soon.
