Graphic 45 June Flower Market Tutorial for Make ^ Take Tuesday

Hello, Friends!  Can you believe it’s time to share our Graphic 45 June Flower Market Tutorial?  This year is racing by so quickly that I cannot keep up with the calendar!  June brings roses to the garden, and they are prominently featured in this project.

Once again, we reached into our paper stash to find a co-star for these lovely G45 papers.  The color palette was a bit unusual, so this proved to be more of a challenge.  But I finally found a worthy companion in these Kaisercraft Mademoiselle papers.  If you don’t have these in your stash, just use what you DO have.  I’ve also incorporated Annette Green’s Everything’s Blooming Large Doily dies to dress up the project pages.

Flips, flaps, pockets and tuck spots are the order of the day.  The large 8 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ format makes rooms for large photos and provides loads of journaling spots, too.

If you missed the previous Flower Market Tutorials, you can get caught up HERE.

Hello, Friends!  Are you ready for Part 2 of our Mother’s Day Tea Party in a Box Folio Tutorial?  I’ve been a busy bee in the studio getting the remainder of this project finished for you.  Some of you have contacted me already with ways that you plan to use this folio for upcoming special occasions.  That makes my heart so happy!  I love it when you share your memories and crafty adventures with me.

Here’s our finished project, and I have to say, I love the way it turned out.  It’s perfectly vintage and beautifully feminine.  My mom loved her flower gardens, and this precious image makes me think of her.  Mom also loved all the wee birds, so I was thrilled to find this gorgeous Printed Beautiful Board from Reneabouquets in my stash.

Butterflies?  Yup, mom loved those too, and  of course I had to use a pink one.  The ribbon closure and bow are also pink,  because Mom loved pink in all its various shades.

The Spine

Did you guess that I would created a dangle charm for the spine?  Well, you were 100% correct!  This  one features a golden bumblebee, flying swallow, text token, daisy, and a darling little bird nest.  You can learn how to add it to your folio in today’s video tutorial.

A Peek Inside

If you missed the first part of this tutorial, you can find it HERE. Part 1 covers building the folio base, adding the liner papers, creating the slash pocket, box pocket,  and decorating the flap pages.

Today we’ll finish the folio.  First, we’ll finish the final flap page with a little pocket, a bookmark and a magnet.  Next, I’ll talk with you about how I “gift wrap” the goodies that fit in the box pocket.  Then, we will finish out the decoration on the slash pocket and talk about how easy it is to create a belly band.

Next on our crafty adventure, we’ll add the ribbon closure, create the spine, and the dangle charm.  And last, but not least, we’ll create the cover for the folio.

I hope you’ll join me as I share Part 2 of this Mother’s Day Tea Party in a Box Folio Tutorial over on my YouTube channel.

Mother’s Day kind of sneaked up on me this year, and I know we are cutting it close with this project.  But maybe you can lock yourself up in your studio this weekend and get this project ready in time.  I hope you have as much fun with it as I did.

Shabby chic embellishments set the tone for this very feminine folio.  Vintage Rose Tuck Ins, beaded flowers, vintage stick pins, mini keys….I’ve scattered paper pretties liberally throughtout my garden!

Not a Shaker Frame

By now, y’all know I’m a sucker for shaker elements.  But this altered Beautiful Board Frame is not a shaker!  I changed things up a bit by adding a Reneabouquets Lissie Pink butterfly and Beautiful Beads to the center of this delicate Victorian Scroll Frame.

Tan Satin Ribbon provides a beautiful contrast to the pastel shades of this paper collection.  The dangle element on the spine features a bird nest, key, and sentiment disk.

A Peek Inside

You’ll learn my sneaky trick that makes assembling this folio a snap in the video tutorial.  I have a feeling that many of you will be making lots of these fun folios for friends and family.

Why is this called a pocket and flap folio?  Because alternating page are either a pocket page filled with a small tag, ephemera piece and photo mat, or an easy to make flap page with room for photos.

This paper collection is absolutely dream to work with.  I love the garden images, shabby chic patterns and beautiful color palette.  How about you?

Lilies are one of my favorite flowers, so I was tickled to see that G45 featured them for the May pages.  If you’re new to the blog, I started sharing a monthly folio tutorial for each of the months in Graphic 45’s through the year collection.  You can find the previous tutorials HERE.

This time, I’ve paired up these gorgeous floral papers with the Let it Bee collection, which is also from Graphic 45.  We use quite a few of the Graphic 45 dies to create accent pieces for the folio, too.

If you don’t have these papers or dies in your stash, don’t worry!  You can probably find papers that will work equally well.  That’s the fun part about this series; you get to mix and match beautiful papers and dies and ephemera from your stash.

There is no shortage of flaps and flips and pockets and mini folios in this design.  The folios are not just fun to create, but they make wonderful gifts.  Imagine receiving the May folio if  you happen to have a May birthday!

I love the way these two paper collections complement one another.  I would not have thought of pairing up red and yellow, but the color palette really speaks to the colors of the lilies, so it works!

Hello, Friends!  Is it really time for our Graphic 45 Flower Market April Folio?  Well, the calendar says it is, so here we come with the next folio in this year-long Make & Take Tuesday series.  This April Folio features daisies, one of the most cheerful flowers of the field.  The cheerful/joyful theme of this month’s folio is perfect for springtime.

We will follow the same basic construction format that we’ve used in the JanuaryMarch folios. But  you know me…I don’t like to do the same thing over and over again, so there are a few subtle changes in this month’s folio.  I’m always looking for ways to improve the basic design.

A Peek Inside

This month’s “guest star” is a selection of papers and ephemera from Kaisercraft Flower Shoppe collection.  What a lovely surprise to see how well these two collections work together!  If you don’t have Flower Shoppe in your stash, just substitute another collection!  I do talk a bit in the video tutorial about my process for picking papers from other collections to go with the G45 papers.

See how well everything flows together?  I’ll share a full walk through in the video tutorial.
