Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge: Masculine Pocket Card with Graphic 45 Good Old Sport

Hello, Friends!  How can it already be June?  But here we are, the first Friday in June and that means it’s time for a fabby new challenge at Really Reasonable Ribbon.  Bonnie has dared us to create a masculine card with ribbon or trim.  So I dug into my Graphic 45 Good Old Sport and Typography papers to put together this masculine pocket card.

Graphic45 Good Old Sport Masculine Pocket Card by Kathy Clement for Really Reasonable Ribbon Masculine Challenge 01These clean simple lines and bold colors are perfect for this challenge.  I created a belly band on my striped background paper by layering antique gold netting with some of the border stickers from the collection.

I also used the burlap string to attach my sentiment charm to that sparkly red clothespin.

I love the little baseball/ribbon embellie that I hung from a red paper clip. ( I scrap lifted this idea from my BOLB Ginny Nemchak.  She’s a clever girl, that one!)

Now it’s your turn!  Start out by visiting the Really Reasonable Ribbon BLOG so you can get all inspired by the other designer projects there.  Then work up your own masculine project using ribbon or trim and link it up.  You’ll find all the details on the RRR Blog.  I’ll be popping by to take a peek at your fabby projects soon.  I can’t wait to see what you make!

Good Old Sport Masculine Birthday Card

Really Reasonable Ribbon: Good Old Sport Masculine Birthday Card

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Do you struggle with embellishing your masculine cards?  Well, help is on the way!  I created this Graphic 45 Good Old Sport Masculine Birthday card, and wanted to add ribbon.  Because we all know…no card is complete without a little bit of ribbon!  And men can be awfully squeamish about getting a card that is ribbon adorned, so you have to be careful what you use.  Thankfully, Really Reasonable Ribbon has some great options that will fit the bill, and keep your guys from getting the heebie jeebies.  Check this out:

Kathy by Design/Good Old Sport Masculine Birthday Card01This 7/8″ Black Satin ribbon is as stylish as an Armani tux!  It adds a soft sheen and elegant feel to this Good Old Sport masculine birthday card. And I just love the way a touch of black anchors a design and pulls all those different patterned layers together.  This ribbon is soft and supple and comes in a rainbow of colors, and varied widths.  It’s a great option for a bow like this one, as it holds its shape really well. I tied this elegant double loop bow with the help of my Zutter Bow-it-All.   If you would like to watch this bow being tied by Bonnie, our fearless leader at RRR, here’s a quick video that I think you will find very helpful. Just click on the play button to view.

I know you all like to see how I finish the insides of my cards, so here ya go!

Good Old Sport Masculine Bday 02A little stamping, more layered papers and a fun baseball theme for my baseball loving son!

If you haven’t checked out RRR’s You Tube Channel, you really should!  Bonnie has a bunch of fantastic video tutorials to address your bow tying questions.  Why not grab a cuppa and spend a little time upping your ribbon tying skills?  You’ll be glad you did!

Tee Time

Tee Time with Really Reasonable Ribbon and Graphic 45 Good Old Sport

Hello Friends!

Well, I have a new ribbon “crush”!  I found this fabby Emerald Green Tartan Plaid ribbon in the Really Reasonable Ribbon store and just had to add it to my stash.  This stuff is soooo pretty, feels like taffeta, and has a soft sheen. The emerald green, navy blue and cream stripes were the perfect color match for my Graphic 45 Good Old Sport papers, so I had a little play time and came up with this Tee Time card.

I love the rich vintage colors in this paper collection, and combined a slew of different patterns on the layers of this card.  Lots of stitching to add texture and detail, and everything is matted on black cardstock to ground the card and unify all those mixy matchy patterns.  Fussy cutting the fabulous female golfer was loads of fun…just like playing paper dolls.

RRR March 27 Good Old Sport 02I created a little bouquet from Red Cosmos Daisies, Red Center Sweetheart Blossoms, and Two-Tone Blue Sweetheart Blossoms.  I even managed to find an itty bitty green golf bag in my crafty stash and added it to the mix.  I inked the posies with Vintage Photo Distress ink to give them a bit of a vintage vibe.

Here’s a peeky at the inside of the card:

RRR March 27 Good Old Sport 05I can’t imagine doing anything athletic in this type of clothing, but it sure made for a fun card!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have a great day today, and  a fabby weekend, too!  There’s still time to get in on the action in the RRR Bright Spring Colors Challenge, so get your craft on and come join the fun!
