Craft Hoarders Anonymous December Hop: Very Vintage Christmas Banner
Hello, Friends! It’s time for the Craft Hoarders Anonymous December Hop. You should be coming here from Teresa Horner’s beautiful blog, where I know you were dazzled by her incredible creativity. She’s a tough act to follow! Since this hop is all about having fun, using our stash and making things that make us happy, I decided to use some of my favorite goodies from Polly’s Paper Studio. My fingers had been itching to play with her very merry Let it Snow Creativity Kit. I also felt like making a Christmas banner. So I whipped up this Very Vintage Christmas Banner to share with you here today.
While I love making banners, I don’t love photographing them, but I did my best to capture all the holiday cheer in this very vintage Christmas banner. It’s loaded with Petaloo flowers and gorgeous ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon, too.
Each panel is sewn onto a burlap flag. I used Tim’s snowflake rosettes and loads of flowers to amp up the festive feel.
I love these rusted stars that are frosted with glitter. (I think I am still wearing a little glitter, but it’s the holidays, so it’s alright!) Each flag is sewn onto a length of mesh ribbon to go along with the rustic feel of this very vintage Christmas banner. Then I accented with Green Glitz Ribbon and Red Swiss Dots Satin Ribbon. I have to confess, I am totally in love with this ribbon combo!
These sweet vintage images just make me happy. They capture a time of innocence and joy that the world could really use right about now.
From here, you will hop over and be dazzled by the one and only Barbara Rankin. If you get lost along the way, visit Gloria Stengel’s blog (she’s our lovely hostess) where you’ll find a complete list of all the hoarders playing along in this hop.
I’m linking this up to the “Tis the Season” Challenge over at Frilly and Funkie.
Here’s wishing you an old fashioned Merry Christmas! Thanks for hopping by!
