Christmas in July Banner of the Month Tutorial

Christmas in July Banner of the Month Tutorial with Spellbinder Dies & Gnome for Christmas

Hello, Friends!  It’s time for our Christmas in July Banner of the Month Tutorial!  This is a quick and easy design thanks to loads of Spellbinder Holiday Dies and great patterns from Echo Park Gnome for Christmas paper collection.  If you are a fan of needlework, Nordic designs, and gingham, I think you are going to enjoy today’s tutorial.

Spellbinders Home for the Holidays St. Nick Dies

The focal point for this 7 pennant banner is our handsome St. Nick figure.  To me, this die has a great Nordic vibe, especially when he’s all decked out in his green Santa suit.  He’s part of the Home for the Holidays release from Spellbinder Paper Arts.

The camera lens didn’t pick this up very well, but his beard and ermine trim are made with white glitter paper, so they really sparkle when the light hits them.

Jingle Bell Beginnings and Endings

I am such a fan of this Spellbinders Tag and Label Die Set!  This time I used the largest and next to the smallest dies to cut the cardstock bases and liners for this banner.  The pennants on either end are made with the smaller dies.

These tags are fairly small, so I didn’t add too much to them.  But the gold jingle bells in the bow cluster add just the right amount of jingle and shine.

Christmas Stitchery: Nichol Spohr’s Needlework Dies

Y’all know how much I enjoy a good sewing themed project.  So you can imagine how tickled I was when I saw Nichol Spohr’s Needlework dies!  Ooooh-la-la!  I could not wait to use them, and found a way to “stitch” them into this Christmas themed banner.   This scene includes her Gathering Stitches, Needlework Tool Kit and greenery from the Faux Embroidered Stocking Dies.  I can see myself using this embroidery hoop to make fabulous shaker windows in the future.

This pennant features the Faux Embroidered Stocking Dies.  Since I die cut my stockings from patterned paper, I didn’t add a lot of the details, but the stockings are still super cute.

This is the Faux Embroidered Spruce die set.  It’s super quick and easy to make, too.  Just layer the tree branch die cuts over the evergreen die cuts, then add in a few extra branches to fill it out.

Christmas Squirrel

This is the only banner that does not feature a die cut scene.  Instead, I went with the Nordic theme and added a sledding squirrel from Stamperia Romantic Woodland.

Christmas in July Banner of the Month Tutorial on YouTube

I’m happy to report that my husband has been cleared to resume most normal duties (still can’t lift anything heavy).  And, our daughter and new grandson are thriving.  So life here is smoothing out a bit, and now I hope to get caught up on all the work I didn’t get done while taking care of them.

So today’s tutorial is a little bit short.  If you’ve never made a banner with me before, here’s a great beginner banner tutorial for you.

For all the rest of you dear friends, please enjoy this somewhat abbreviated tutorial on my YouTube channel:

As always, you will find a linked supply list below this post.
