Let Freedom Ring Patriotic Card

Let Freedom Ring Patriotic Card with Really Reasonable Ribbon

Hello, Friends!  July 4th is right around the corner, so I’m sharing this Let Freedom Ring Patriotic Card with you today.  Red, white and blue is always a winning color palette, so I loaded this card up with ribbon, trims and flowers from Really Reasonable Ribbon to amp up the patriotic vibe.

Card Recipe

Add lots of different textures to make a card with a lot of visual interest.  Here’s how:

  • First, create a 7″ x 5 top fold card base with blue cardstock.
  • Next, stitch a panel of 6 5/8″ x 4 5/8″ patterned paper onto a slightly larger white cardstock base.
  • Then, adhere this to a slightly larger red cardstock panel.
  • Mat a 3×4 image on red cardstock and stitch around the perimeter.
  • Now adhere a scrap of blue ticking fabric behind the panel and adhere as seen in the photo.
  • Add another great layer of texture with mulberry flowers.
  • Then tie a bow with pretty Patriotic Plaid Ribbon and top with an Airmail Baker’s Twine Bow.
  • Adhere loose threads and a button/charm embellishment on the right.
  • Push some stick pins into the flower cluster and you’re done!
A Peek Inside

Add stickers and ephemera from the paper collection to dress up the inside of the card.

Then mat the 4×4 image on blue cardstock and trim with a tiny gold paper clip and a baker’s twine bow.  The tiny flags are from a Picket Fence Studio Shaker mix (listed below).

This card would be a great addition to your Independence Day festivities, or on display in a home done up in the Americana style.   Independence Day is one of our family’s favorite holidays, and we always do it up big. But I’m always happy when I get to play with a red, white and blue theme.
