Autumn Celebration Pocket Card

Autumn Celebration Pocket Card with Photoplay Autumn Greetings

Hello, Friends!  It’s amazing how a small gift like this Autumn Celebration Pocket Card can bring a big smile to the face of a friend. Cheery papers from Photoplay’s Autumn Greetings,  fall embellishments and a few fall treats are the perfect way to add sunshine to anyone’s day.

This front pocket card design follows the same pattern as a Kangaroo Pocket card I designed earlier this year. You can find that tutorial HERE.  Instead of adding a brag book to the pocket, I used it to house a little tea party in a box.

This is a great way to use up bits and bobs of a favorite paper collection!

It’s amazing what you can make with little scraps of designer paper, isn’t it?

A Peek Inside

Magnets placed beneath the designer papers keep the front flap from flopping around.

TIP: Tear the edges on small scraps of designer paper to add pretty borders to a entiment panel.  Use a coordinating stamp set to dress it up even further.

Create a pocket in the center panel to hold a pretty gift card wallet.

Again, use small scraps of designer paper and stickers to dress up the inside.  No one will ever guess!

This card is a great example of how you can adapt the kangaroo pocket card design for any occasion.  I hope you’ll take another look at the original tutorial and then have fun using it to create a fabulous Autumn Celebration Pocket Card yourself.

Throwback Thursday: Echo Park Welcome Baby Boy Kangaroo Pocket Folio Tutorial

Hello, Friends!  It’s Throwback Thursday, and I’m keeping my promise to share this Baby Boy Kangaroo Pocket Folio Tutorial.  I came up with this fun baby card design back in April when I shared the Welcome Baby Girl Kangaroo Pocket project with you.  Many of you asked me to do a tutorial at that time, and I said I would.  So I ‘m switching things up this week and instead of sharing a new project with an old paper collection, I’m sharing an old design with a new paper collection.  How about that?

Welcome Baby Boy !

Echo Park Welcome Baby Boy Kangaroo Pocket Folio Tutorial by Kathy Clement Photo 01

I love everything about this folio design.  From the fun fold card base, to the itty bitty accordion folio to the array of flaps and pockets inside…every element makes me happy.

Since it’s Throwback Thursday, I did some digging in my stash to see what older embellishments I could find there.  I had completely forgotten about these adorable baby boy sock buttons and the little silver charms.

Don’t you just love the colors and images in this sweet collection from Echo Park?

And here’s a peek at the amazing itty bitty accordion fold album that lives in the Kangaroo Pocket.  How fun is that?

A Peek Inside the Card Folio Base

There is loads of room for photos and journaling inside the folio base, too.  You’ll see all the details in the YouTube tutorial below.

Between the itty bitty mini album and the folio base, you can document the Little Prince’s entire first year.  And, you can easily use this same design to document a family vacation, wedding, or other special event.  Just change up the papers to match the theme.

So if you’re ready to dig in and create this sweet project with me, just click play on the video below.  You might want to grab a cuppa and a snack for sustenance, though.  This is a big project to make with lots of steps so it takes some time to watch the whole thing.

You can find a linked supply list below the post.

So there’s a promise made and a promise kept.  I hope you have as much fun making this little folio as I did designing it!

Happy Throwback Thursday!

Baby Girl Kangaroo Pocket Card Folio

Echo Park Welcome Baby Girl Kangaroo Pocket Card Folio for Really Reasonable Ribbon

Hello, Friends!  Are you wondering what a  Kangaroo Pocket Card Folio is?  Well, your curiosity is about to be satisfied!  This fun fold card has an itty bitty accordion folio tucked into the dimensional pocket on the cover.  As the design came together, all I could think of was a baby kangaroo tucked inside her mommy’s pouch.  Take a look:

Is that cute or what?

TIP: Pick up the deep pink tones of the pastel plaid by adding a Shocking Pink Checkerboard Satin Ribbon closure.

The First Year Unfolds

Capture every single memory of baby’s first year in this teeny tiny 3 1/4″ square accordion folio.  It’s the perfect size for a brag book!  Here’s how:

  • First, cut 3 sheets of Echo Park Welcome Baby Girl Solids into 12″ x 3 1/4″ strips.
  • Now, overlap each strip about 1/4″ and adhere to form one very long strip that is 3 1/4″ tall.
  • Next, score this strip every 3 1/4″ all the way down the length.
  • Then accordion fold.  You will end up with a short flap that can be tucked inside to form a pocket.
  • Wrap Shocking Pink Checkerboard Satin Ribbon around the center of the folded folio.  Use 1/2″ Scor-Tape to hold it in place.
  • Now you just need to cut apart the 3×3 images and some 3×3 panels of designer paper to cover the pages.
  • Decorate the cover and you’re done!  You can see how the folio unfolds in the video tour below.
Quick and Cute Paper Clip Embellishment

Next you can make a quick and cute paper clip embellishment to hold the fun fold card closed.  This vinyl coated paper clip is 1 1/2″ long.

  • First, cut a 4″ piece of Shocking Pink Plaid Ribbon.
  • Next, fold the ends of the ribbon in half.  Cut from the fold to the outside edge to create fishtail banner ends.
  • Now fold the ribbon in half and thread the loop through the top of the paper clip.
  • Then pull the legs through the loop and tighten.
  • Finish with an iridescent metallic string bow and an itty bitty cluster of flowers.
A Peek Inside

Here’s a look at what’s hiding behind the front flap.  There’s a little pocket with a 3×4 journal card insert.  Then I matted a sentiment card on hot pink cardstock and used stickers to frame it. Light Pink Ric-Rac makes a pretty border, but keeps the card from being too bulky.

Flip open the card cover to find a belly band and photo mat inserts.  There’s also a pocket and photo mat in the center of the card.  So there’s lots and lots of room for sweet memories and photos of baby’s first year.

I thought you might want to see how the accordion folio looks inside, so I created a little 5 minute video tour for you.
