Simple Stories Lakeside Masculine Botanical Card for Really Reasonable Ribbon

Hello, Friends! Let’s take a walk down by the lake this morning as I share this Simple Stories Lakeside Masculine Botanical Card. I’ve added all kinds of fun embellishments to this botanical beauty, including an elegant ribbon border created with the August Ribbon Club Assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Do you feel challenged when it comes to using ribbon on a masculine card? It can be tricky, I know. But if you keep it simple, you’ll have a win every time!

First, choose colors from nature. This color combination of Kiwi Green Diamond Satin and Gold Edged Cappuccino Satin are the perfect color match for the Simple Stories Lakeside Collection.
Next, forget about big poufy bows! Instead, use Scor-Tape to attach layers of ribbon as a border on your card. This adds color, texture and subtle pattern without looking “too girly.”
Then, if you must add bows, choose something like rustic Natural Burlap String. This is a great option for attaching the metal sentiment strip, too!

Botanical Details

Y’all know how much I love to embellish a card. And you can still add loads of embellishments to masculine cards! Isn’t that great news?

Create a collage with a rusty bottle cap, tiny acorn, feather, moss, wooden leaves and Prills.
Sprinkle Prills randomly around the card to add texture and visual interest to your composition.
Create a woodsy vibe with ferns, wooden leaves and mushrooms as embellishments.

A Peek Inside

The inside of the card is dressed up with a little gift card pocket and tag combo. Then dress up a blank sentiment panel with a scrap of plaid paper and a ticket sticker.
