Really Reasonable Ribbon May 2023 Blog Hop: Patriotic Ribbons

Hello, Friends!  Welcome to the Really Reasonable Ribbon May 2023 Blog Hop.  You should be coming here from Gloria’s lovely blog.  Our theme this month is “Patriotic Ribbon.”  So I pulled out my red, white and blue ribbons, a gorgeous new paper collection from Photoplay Paper and created a star-spangled creation to inspire you today.

All good blog hops have prizes, so there are some treats up for grabs, too!  Comment over on the RRR BLOG to be entered into the drawing for a $10 gift certificate and one free digital stamp set of your choice.  Now, Let’s get on with the hop!

Land That I Love

I don’t know about you, but I am deeply grateful for all the American men and women who have served our country in the military.  This card celebrates that with the bold and beautiful colors of our country’s flag.

Photoplay Paper’s Land That I Love collection set the stage. Then beautiful mulberry flowers from RRR stepped into the spotlight.  Deep Red Cherry Blossoms, Blue Cottage Roses and White Lotus Blossoms blend beautifully with  Red Poppy Print Ribbon.

Top off that beautiful bow cluster with a gold metallic string bow, vintage safety pin and enamel patriotic charm for a perfect finish.

A Peek Inside

The celebration continues inside the card!  Of course, I added a pocket!

On With the Hop!

Now hop on over and see what paper pretties my friend Cheryl has prepared for you.  Remember to finish up over on the RRR blog where you can answer Bonnie’s question of the month and enter the drawing for that gift certificate and digital stamp set!

Enjoy the hop!

Red White and Blue Country Wheelbarrow

Hello, Friends!  This Red White and Blue Country Wheelbarrow reminds us that we are coming up on some of my favorite summer holidays.  Memorial Day, Flag Day and Independence Day will be here before we know it!  So I broke out my patriotic Really Reasonable Ribbon and Photoplay Paper Land That I Love collection to dress up this adorable Spellbinders Country Road Wheelbarrow.

This 5 1/2″ square greeting card is all about the stars and stripes!  RRR Striped Satin Ribbon provides a beautiful border above and below the Country Wheelbarrow.  I’ve filled it with patriotic flowers and foliage die cut with the Country Roads Garden Builder set.  Airmail Baker’s Twine Bows add a soft country finish beneath Deep Red Cherry Blossoms and Blue Cottage Roses.

TIP: Fussy cut the floral cluster and flags from the Photoplay Uncle Sam hat 3×4 image.  Then tuck it behind the wheelbarrow to add another layer of depth and dimension to the card design.

A Peek Inside

Don’t you love these beautiful papers?  Red white and blue always looks phenomenal in a project!

TIP: Add ribbon on top of the pocket to create a festive border.  Secure the ribbon with 1/4″ Scor-Tape for a quick and easy finish.

I’m proud to be an American, so I  always look forward to creating festive patriotic projects at this time of year!  No matter what country you are from, you should be proud of your nation, display its colors and celebrate your heritage.

I hope I shared some tips and tricks you can use in your next crafty adventure!
