Autumn Greetings Loaded Pocket Card with Really Reasonable Ribbon and Photoplay Paper

Hello, Friends!  This Autumn Greetings Loaded Pocket Card is such a fun way to celebrate my favorite season!  I love the crisp fall air,  crystal blue sky, crunchy leaves, calling geese and fields of bright orange pumpkins that make autumn such a gorgeous season!  So I thought I would start celebrating early with the Autumn Assortment Ribbon Club from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Hedgehogs and Pumpkins!

Did you hear me squeal when I opened my August Ribbon Club and found this adorable Hedgehogs and Pumpkin Printed Satin Ribbon? I’m not surprised if you did…because it is sooo stinkin’ cute!  In fact, I found loads of ways to use the Ribbon Club on this card!

  • Then top a decorative tag with a bit of the Cappuccino Delicate Stitched Satin , Orange Plaid Ribbon and more fall flowers.
  • Create a little tea wallet and chocolate wallet to tuck inside the pocket.
  • Finally, dress up treats with snippets of ribbon, flowers and burlap string.

Loaded pockets make great gifts for any occasion, and they are so much fun to create.  I hope I’ve shared some inspirational ideas for you to use with your RRR August Ribbon Club Assortment!

Shabby Chic Bouquet Loaded Pocket Card Tutorial

Little Birdie Crafts Shabby Chic Bouquet Loaded Pocket Card Tutorial by Kathy Clement Kathy by Design Photo 01

Little Birdie Crafts Shabby Chic Bouquet Loaded Pocket Card Tutorial

Hello Friends!  I’m guest designing over on the Little Birdie Crafts Blog where I’m sharing this Shabby Chic Bouquet Loaded Pocket Card Tutorial.  With Mother’s Day right around the corner, this lovely design would make a lovely gift!

The tutorial will show you how to create a dimensional pocket on the front of a 5″ x 7″ card base.  Then you can fill that pocket with little treasures, gift cards, notes or any small token that would brighten up mom’s special day.

Creating the pocket on the card base means that it can stand for display.

Gift wrap your little treasures with designer papers from the Shabby Chic Bouquet paper collection to make them really special.  And as you can see, once the treats have been consumed, the card is still beautiful enough to set out as a home decor piece.

There is room inside the card to add a favorite photo and write a lovely note.

Each card measures 5″ x 5″ and has in inside pocket for treats, cash or gift cards.  Made with my number one all time favorite G45 Place in Time Collection, these sweet cards are super quick and easy to make, use a limited amount of materials, and are quite affordable to make. You can make all four of these fabulous cards for about $15.

To make the cards, cut out the images, tags, borders and post card from one Place in time October Sheet.  Then cut up the patterned side of the other sheet.  I show you how to do this in the video tutorial.  You’ll also need 2 sheets of 12×12 Patterns and Solids to complement the Place in time papers.  I used Master Detective, but you could use whatever you have in your On hand.  The whole idea here is to dig into your unused stash and put it to good use.

I bought these  Jolee’s Boutique Ravens and Words stickers a couple of years ago at a 50% off sale at JoAnn’s.  The stickers have been retired, but I managed to find some online HERE.  However, the cards are super cute even without the stickers.  I just had them in my stash, and decided to use them up.

We’ll build these easy layers together in the video tutorial.  These are great basic card “recipes” that you’ll be able to adapt and use with any of the Place in Time papers.

TIP: Die cut doilies from scrap cardstock to save money.  I have several doily dies in various sizes, and I use them all the time.

Two of the cards are top fold, and two are side fold, just to keep things interesting.  You use the same base for both types of cards, which makes life easy!

Autumn Hues Tag Pocket Greeting Card

Really Reasonable Ribbon August Ribbon Club Collection: Autumn Hues Tag Pocket Greeting Card

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Summer is winding down here in North Carolina.  While the afternoons are still quite hot, there’s a lovely coolness in the early morning and evening hours.  The days are getting shorter, too.  These subtle changes inspired me to create this Autumn Hues Tag Pocket Greeting Card. My RRR Autumn Harvest Ribbon Club Assortment arrived in my mailbox just in time for me to make this pretty card/tag combo!

Usually, I put my pockets on the insides of my cards.  But change is good for the soul.  So, this time around I created a fun tag pocket on the front of a tall, skinny kraft card base.

This side fold card measures 4.25″ wide x 7″ tall.  I tore a piece of Kaisercraft Golden Grove designer paper to create this rustic looking pocket. Moss/Cream 5/8″ wide plaid ribbon looks amazing with this paper collection!

I have as much fun decorating the insides of my cards as I do the outside.  Often, I will layer up scraps of designer paper to create a sort of collage effect as I did here.

How much fun will it be for the recipient of this card to open each section and find a yummy chocolate treat inside?  I just love interactive elements in cards!

Are you ready for fall?  It’s my favorite season of the year.  While I get a little sad at the fact that the days are getting shorter, the promise of golden leaves, bright blue skies and cool, crisp air fills me with anticipation.

I hope I’ve shared some tips and tricks that you can use in your own crafty adventures.  If so, I’d love to hear from you in the comment section below.
