Graphic 45 Rare Oddities Curio Cabinet Halloween Card
Hello, Friends! Today’s Rare Oddities Curio Cabinet Halloween Card is a “scrap your stash” project. It’s always fun to use old favorites in new ways. And I bet I am not the only one who has a few sheets of this gorgeous collection lying around gathering dust. Time to sharpen the scissors and get our Halloween on with the ghosts of Halloween past!
TIP: If you don’t have Rare Oddities in the house, you could substitute the cabinet images from Olde Curiosity Shoppe DCE.
The base of this card is a 6″ x 6″ easel, so it’s pretty simple to make. Fussy cut the elements from the signature page, and then pop them up with dimensionals for added punch. The center panel in my Curio Cabinet is popped up on two layers of waste chipboard to add even more dimension to the card. When finished, I covered the individual panes with Glossy Accents to give them the appearance of glass. Add in a little chipboard action, ribbon, flowers and a pressed penny from my stash, and the card front is finished.
Rare Oddities Curio Cabinet Halloween Card: A Peek Inside
Have you ever added a pocket to an easel card? It’s really easy to do, and lends a surprise element, which is always fun.
To make this pocket, I simply cut my designer paper 2″ longer than the height of the card base. Since this is a 6″ x 6″ card, that means I cut my paper to measure 5 7/8″ x 7 7/8″. Next, score the paper at 5 7/8″, add gussets to the pockets, if desired, fold and adhere to the card base. Quick and easy pocket! As a bonus, the pocket serves as the stopper for the easel mechanism.
Use your scraps to create a little cutaway folio to tuck into that pocket, and you’ve got yourself a frightfully fabulous Halloween card!
