Authentique Clover St Patrick’s Day Banner

Authentique Clover St. Patrick’s Day Banner with Eileen Hull House Die

Hello, Friends!  It’s time to get ready for St. Patrick’s Day!  I’m here to help get the party started with a gloriously green Authentique Clover St. Patrick’s Day Banner.

This banner is so happy, it makes me want to dance a jig!  And, it’s easy to make, too, thanks to Eileen Hull’s House/Pocket  Thinlits Die!  (This is a tip I learned from my scrappy buddy, Maggi Harding.)

Measuring over 3 feet in length, the banner is made with 2 different sized pennants.  The 3 large pennants are made with Eileen’s House Die.  Turning it upside down gives it a great banner shape!  Each of these pennants measures about 4″ x 6″.

The 4 smaller pennants each measure about 2 1/2″ x 3″.  These are die cut from the Kelly Green cardstock that comes with the Clover collection.  I simply selected a shaped label die that I like to create these.

A second layer of designer paper is cut with the hemstitch pocket die that come in the House/Pocket die set.  Top this with a doily, add an image fussy cut from the 3″ x 4″ cards, toss in some flowers, vintage buttons and stick pins, and you’ve got yourself a mighty fine banner.

Authentique Clover St. Patrick’s Day Banner Tips and Tricks

TIP: Pop the fussy cut focal image up on pop dots, foam tape or waste chipboard to add dimension to your banner.

Each pennant is stitched onto 1 1/2″ wide Emerald Plaid Ribbon.

TIP: Use binder clips to hold the pennants in place on your ribbon.  Then stitch along  both the top and bottom edge of the ribbon.  This will ensure that the banner hangs flat.

TIP: If you’d rather not stitch, you can always attach the pennants with clothespins or colorful bulldog clips.

TIP:  Tie bows between each pennant.  For this banner, I’ve used Forest Green Taffeta Ribbon.  First tie a long piece in a square knot.  Then tie a double loop bow and adhere it on top.

Saint Patrick’s Day Trifold Shaker Folio Tutorial Video

NOTE:  I need to add a correction to this video tutorial.  In a sleep deprived state, I provided the wrong measurements for the Green Thumb Spectrum liner panels.  The correct measurements are 5 3/8″ x 5 3/8″ for the square panels.  The “short” panel should measure 4 5/8″ x 5 3/8″.  So sorry for any frustration or confusion this error might have caused.  Never create a video tutorial when you are tired!  Lesson learned.  Thanks for your gracious understanding.

This card feels like a magical portal back in time to a peaceful, simple, cozy Christmas!  It measures 5 3/4″ x 7 3/4″ x 1/2″ and is richly layered with papers, images, ribbons, flowers and all the shabby chic elements I love the most.   Don’t you want to spend the holidays in this serene and scenic spot?

Stamperia Pink Christmas Card Folio: The Layers

To create this rich, layered look follow these simple steps:

  • First cut a 5 5/8″  mat from soft teal cardstock.  Distress the edges and ink with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink.
  • Next, cut a 5 1/2″ mat from soft pink cardstock and repeat the distressing steps.
  • Now cut a 5 1/4″ layer of the pink and aqua mixed media background page from Pink Christmas. (The one with the squirrels on the back side).
  • Then stitch or adhere all 3 layers together .
  • Add a layer of white crochet lace from the ribbon club assortment along the border edge of the patterned paper.

  • Now fussy cut the image from the paper collection and back with dimensionals like foam tape or waste chipboard.
  • Use postage stamp shaped scissors to cut out the stamp images and layer behind the focal along with the “Christmas” banner.
  • Adhere a white glitter snowflake in the upper left hand corner of the card.
  • Then adhere all the other layers in place.

Here’s how I created this deliciously shabby chic bow cluster.

Stamperia Pink Christmas Card Folio: Detail Shots

This little vignette is created on top of a slice of wood my son cut from a branch.  First, I painted the surface with Picket Fence Distress Paint.  Then I added some Ranger Crackle Texture Paste and Clear Rock Candy Distress Glitter to the edges.  Then I adhered the mini Woodland Tree, some more bead/berry clusters and a vintage button from my stash.  Next, I adhered the entire assemblage to a cut apart from the paper collection, backed it with foam adhesive and adhered in place.  A few more shell buttons from my stash, some icy branches and a touch of Diamond Stickles and dry brushing with acrylic paint complete the card.

Frosty Winter Mini Tag Album Tutorial

Tammy Tutterow Creative Crew: Frosty Winter Mini Tag Album Tutorial

Hello, Friends! We’re getting our Christmas crafts on this month!  Today,  I have the cutest Frosty Winter Mini Tag Album Tutorial to share with you today!  Little things make my heart happy, and this itty bitty 4″ x 2 x 1.5″ wintry album is filled with all kinds of teeny tiny cuteness!

Frosty Winter Mini Tag Album Tutorial by Kathy Clement for Tammy Tutterow Designs Product by Spellbinders and Authentique Photo 1

See what I mean?  Who doesn’t love a snow globe style shaker element on the cover of a teeny tiny mini album?

Frosty Winter Mini Tag Album Tutorial by Kathy Clement for Tammy Tutterow Designs Product by Spellbinders and Authentique Photo 2The base of this adorable album is created with Tammy Tutterow’s Mini Tag Album Die.  I’ve made several albums with this sweet die, but this time, I modified the design to create a chunky spine and tabbed pocket pages.  You’ll see how I do this in my Frosty Winter Mini Tag Album Tutorial video.

Frosty Winter Mini Tag Album Tutorial: Shake it Up, Baby!

I forgot to tell you how to make the shaker cover in my tutorial video, so I will do that here.

Frosty Winter Mini Tag Album Tutorial by Kathy Clement for Tammy Tutterow Designs Product by Spellbinders and Authentique Photo 3The focal image on the cover is a sticker from Authentique’s Frosty Winter 12×12 Paper Collection. (Product Links below.)  Here’s how I created this fun shaker top element:

  • First, add the sticker to a circular die cut or chipboard piece that is about 1/2″ larger in diameter than the sticker.  I painted my die cut white first to make sure that if it showed, it would look nice.
  • Now, use the corresponding Spellbinder Small Standard Circle die to cut out a clear acetate circle.  This will be the cover for your shaker element.
  • Next, add 1/8″ Scor-tape to the back side of this die cut circle.
  • Then, add Kool-Tac clear foam tape around the outer edge of the circle with the sticker.
  • Now, carefully add some Stampendous Shaved Ice Frantage elements to the center of the snow globe base.  Be careful not to get any flakes on the Kool-Tac, or it will not stick well.
  • Next, remove the liner tape from the Scor-Tape and the Kool-Tac tape and press the acetate cover over the sticker base.
  • Now, hot glue the snow globe base to the album cover.
  • Then use hot glue to add the white leaf wreath around the outer edge.
  • Finally, decorate with die cut felt flowers.

Frosty Winter Mini Tag Album Tutorial by Kathy Clement for Tammy Tutterow Designs Product by Spellbinders and Authentique Photo 4You all know how much I love tags and pockets and dimensional details.  I wanted to add those to this adorable album, but to do that, I had to modify the design a little. You will learn how to turn the mini tag album base into this chunky little album in the tutorial.

Sticker stamps make great tuck spots if you back them with cardstock.  You can also add stickers to folded cardstock to create these mini file folders.

Page turn elements are made with a die from Tabs 2.  And Tammy’s Prim heart makes the cutest little embellishment when cut from felt.
