Carta Bella En Vogue Eiffel Tower Slimline Birthday Card for Throwback Thursday
Hello, Friends! Let’s make an Eiffel Tower Slimline Birthday Card. Welcome to Throwback Thursday! Today we’re breaking out Carta Bella’s 2019 En Vogue. If you have this lovely collection in your Closet of Shame, then it’s time to pull it out and make something beautiful.
Meet me in Paris in front of the Eiffel Tower and we’ll share some Macarons as we take in the City of Lights. Oooh la la!
Tips and Details
Begin by scoring an 11″ x 8 1/2″ piece of cream cardstock at 3 1/2″ and 3 3/4″.
Fold along the 3 3/4″ score line and repeat.
Trim the flap on the right to measure 1 3/4″.
Now fold and burnish the score lines to create a 3 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ side fold slimline card.
Add hinges to the back side of the flap and fold to form a 1/4″ box pocket inside the card.
Watch the video tutorial to see all the card come together step by step.
A Peek Inside
The inside has a decorative gift card pocket on the left and a box pocket on the right. You will learn how to make the two treat folios in the video tutorial below.
Eiffel Tower Slimline Birthday Card Video Tutorial
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s Throwback Thursday episode. If you don’t have the En Vogue Collection in your stash, I’m sure you can use this same design with another retired paper collection.
I’ve loaded this card into my Etsy shop. And you’ll find a linked supply list below this post.
Hello, Friends! Today’s Bunny Week make is a super simple Peter Cottontail Slimline Tea Wallet Card. Once again, I am working with scraps from Memory Place “Peter’s World” paper collection. (Linked below). Like all slimline cards, this one measures 3 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and is made from one sheet of 8 1/2″ x 11″ paper. This is a very quick and easy make, fun to give, and easily adaptable for any theme or occasion.
Peter Cottontail Slimline Tea Wallet Tips and Tricks
First, score an 8 1/2″ x 11″ sheet of gray cardstock on the long side (landscape orientation) at 3 1/2″, 7″, and 10 1/2″.
Now fold along the scored lines to form a side opening slimline card base.
Next, machine stitch the focal image on a panel of 3″ x 8 1/8″ cream cardstock. My panel of designer paper was about 2 3/4″ x 6″.
Then mat this cream panel on a slightly larger panel of light blue cardstock.
Now cut a scrap of the carrot pattern to fill in the gap between the focal image and the bottom of the cream cardstock. Back this panel with foam tape or waste chipboard and adhere below the focal image.
Next wrap half a doily around the left hand side of the cream panel. Then decorate the card front with flowers and leaves from your stash. I found another small doily (I think this is an ancient Prima embellishment) .
Locate the tab that we saved from yesterday’s post. Tuck this between the layers on the right hand side of the card. Affix a resin keyhole here. (Retired Melissa Frances resin)
Stamp a greeting on a small tab from the paper collection.
Add some burlap bows and your work is done!
A Peek Inside
Line the inside of the card as seen above. Create a pocket from grey cardstock and adhere it over the 1/2″ flap on the right. Tuck in some teas that match the paper collection. Then hold everything together with a lovely little binder clip.
That’s it! You could easily substitute chocolate for the tea, or mix it up if you prefer.
I have one last bunny project to share with you all tomorrow for Throwback Thursday. I saved the best for last!
Thanks for stopping by!
** Please note. Many of the items used in today’s project have been in my stash a long time. I will link to the products I can still find below. You can substitute goodies from your stash for the other items.

This 8 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ slimline card is just so full of happy! I’ve paired up LemonCraft “Delicious” papers with black micro gingham ribbonfrom Really Reasonable Ribbon. Cheery red flowers and cherry red buttons tie it all together beautifully.

Authentique Hooray Birthday Chorus Slimline Card for Really Reasonable Ribbon
Hello, Friends! Can you hear the piping voices of the sweet children on this Authentique Hooray Birthday Chorus Slimline Card? The retro red and aqua color palette of this card is certainly music to my ears. How about you? Especially the pops of red from Really Reasonable Ribbon’s January Ribbon Club Assortment!
Because slimline cards measure 8 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ , I had plenty of room for the birthday chorus. To fussy cut them from Hooray 1, leave a straight line along the bottom edge, but trim around the top and sides. Then pop them up on foam tape or other dimensionals to really make them stand out.
One of my favorite ribbon tricks is to create a layered border from ribbon. This time, layer Random Hearts Red Grosgrain ribbon over Poppy Red Satin with a grosgrain edge behind the Birthday Chorus. This draws the eye to the black and white focal image and helps it to pop off the page. Tie everything together with Random Hearts Grosgrain Bows in the corners.
Spellbinders Expressions of Love Slimline Shaker Card
Hello, Friends! If you haven’t started making your Valentines yet, I think you’ll enjoy today’s Spellbinders Expressions of Love Slimline Shaker Card. Simple to make, shabby chic, and shimmering with metallic foil accents, it comes together in no time flat!
Don’t you just love these intricate Forever Love Heart Dies? Their lacy elegance is perfectly paired with Little Birdie Crafts Shabby Chic paper collection. Pink Metallic Cardstock really makes them and the “Love” sentiment die cut pop off the page.
Building the Card Base
First, score an 8 1/2″ x 7″ panel of white cardstock in half to form an 8 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ top-fold slimline card base.
Next, machine stitch an 8 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ panel of Little Birdie Shabby Chic designer paper on a slightly larger panel of pink cardstock.
Now, cut a 7 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ panel of designer paper. Then arrange the Forever Love Heart Die inserts on the panel and die cut according to your machine’s instructions.
Then, die cut the hearts a second time. This time use pink metallic paper and the outside heart frame when you die cut.
Now you will carefully adhere the foil hearts over the inset die cut hearts. Overlap the layers just the tiniest bit to create a shadow effect.
Shake and Bake!
Next, adhere clear cardstock (acetate) on the back side of the panel. Add foam tape to tje back to create a shaker box.
Then, place your shaker mix on the card base and carefully position the top layer over it. Press gently to seal all the edges.
Now place foam adhesive on the back of a Shabby Chic Die Cut image and adhere between the 2 hearts. Tuck some little posies (linked below) around the die cut to anchor it to the page.
Now die cut the “love” sentiment from a scrap of the designer paper and a scrap of the pink metallic paper.
Adhere them together so they are slightly offset to create a shadow effect.
Next layer the sentiment on another die cut image from the Shabby Chic Collection.
Finish the corners with ribbon, string bows, roses, stick pins, pink heart buttons, and a resin rose.
A Peek Inside
Finish the inside of the card with more Shabby Chic designer papers , fussy cut elements and a side pocket.
Fill the pocket with a pretty tea bag and a 3×4 sentiment card from the paper collection.
