Really Reasonable Ribbon Flowers and Ribbon Challenge

Hello, Friends!  There’s a new challenge up on the Really Reasonable Ribbon BLOG. The Flowers and Ribbon Challenge is just what we need after a long, cold winter, wouldn’t you agree? I dug out my Graphic 45 “Time to Flourish” papers and the gorgeous new March Ribbon Club Assortment from RRR and created this springtime tulip card.

 

I was thrilled with how perfectly the ribbons go with the April pages from Time to Flourish.  I used a combination of Light Coral and Tropic Delicate Stitched Satin and a touch of Sharon White Crocheted Lace.  The delicate stitched satin ribbon is my absolute favorite, as it has a soft sheen and ties perfect bows every time.  It also comes in a rainbow of beautiful colors!

To create this two-tone bow, I stacked two 18″ lengths of ribbon one on top of the other, and then tied the bow using my Bow-it-All Tool.  I threaded some white string through the fussy cut tag and added it to the top of the pretty bow.

The open tulip was created using the die cut flowers that are part of the Time to Flourish collection.  Once the individual layers were shaped, the center was filled with pink seed beads and then I painted the whole thing with Clear Rock Candy Distress Crackle.  I love the crackly, vintage shine this lends to the flower.

The inside was finished simply with another panel of paper and a bit of artwork from the cut apart page.  I left it blank so that a personal greeting could be inserted.  This card would work well as an Easter card, a get well card, or a birthday card. It’s always good to keep one’s options open!
