Reneabouquets Medium Blue Lilac Printed Beautiful Board Shaker Frame by Kathy Clement PHoto 01

The heart of this pretty project is this shaker frame made with Reneabouquets Blue Lilac Printed Beautiful Board Frame.  Here’s how to make it:

  • First, trace around the frame onto acetate sheets (clear cardstock.
  • Now cut along the inside line of the tracing and adhere to the back side of the frame.
  • Next, trace around the frame onto a scrap of yellow cardstock.  Trim out and set aside.
  • Then cut out the image from the April image from the 8×8 pad.  Adhere this in the center of the heart.
  • Now add your shaker elements in the center of the image.  I used Buttons Galore Easter Chic shaker mix. (Linked below this post.)
  • Next, add 3 rows of 1/8″ foam strips to the back side of the heart frame.  Make sure you don’t leave gaps!
  • Finally, press the frame in place over the prepared image.

You’ll learn how to build a sneaky hidden pocket to house this 5 1/4″ folio.

We can add a pocket and a flap page inside the folio to give us even more room for photos and journaling.

Don’t  you just love the images in this month’s pages?

A Peek Inside

The inside of the easel card base gives us room for a lovely pocket and a sweet little tuck spot.

Throwback Thursday: G45 March Time to Flourish Folio Tutorial

Hello, Friends!  It’s time to share our G45 March Time to Flourish Folio Tutorial in this week’s Throwback Thursday.  I’ve heard from so many of you that you are really enjoying this monthly series.  Since we are in the 2nd week of February, I thought I’d get the March folio done so we have plenty of time to get them done.

The format for this folio is pretty much just like the February and January versions.  Springtime and St. Patrick’s Day are two great events that take place in March, and I love the way these are represented in the papers.  I have vivid childhood memories of picking wild violet bouquets as the snow melted away in the spring. The color palette in this month’s folio brings those lovely memories back to me.

Once again, we  have a hidden pocket built beneath the easel card base.

Inside this folio you’ll find a pocket and flap page, just as we did in February.

You can learn how to create all the elements I’ve shared here in the video tutorial below.  I hope you enjoy!

G45 Time to Flourish Scrappy Valentine Tutorial for Make & Take Tuesday

Hello, Friends!  It’s Make & Take Tuesday, and I have a G45 Time to Flourish Scrappy Valentine Tutorial to share with you.  If you struggle with using all those little leftover bits and bobs on your desk after you’ve finished a project, then I think you are going to enjoy today’s post.

G45 Tim eto Flourish Scrappy Valentine Tutorial by Kathy Clement Photo 01

Last week, we shared a Throwback Thursday tutorial that showed you how to make our monthly Time to Flourish Desk Calendar.  I used up almost every bit of the 8×8 and 12×12 papers in that project.  But I had one sweet image, a border strip, and a few small pieces of patterned paper left on my desk as well as some cardstock bits left over.  This sweet card iw what I ended up making with all those bits and bobs.

All the patterned papers, cardstock mats and even the card base were what I had left to work with.  I also had a small “goodie bag” that The Funkie Junkie Boutique sent with a recent order.  The filigree heart, paper doll and die cut cardstock hearts were in that. A Melissa Frances Resin Crown (retired) from my stash,  Little Birdie Flowers, ribbon and a bit of lace rounded out the card design.

A Peek Inside

Isn’t it amazing what you can do with just a pile of paper scraps?

TIP: Create a “paper doll” pocket with the row of postage stamps from the 8×8 pad.  Just place a tiny dot of adhesive on the sides and bottom then adhere to the base.  Then tuck in the little sentiment cut aparts.  You could even write a secret message on the back of each one.

Throwback Thursday: Graphic 45 February Time to Flourish Folio Tutorial

Hello, Friends!  Today’s Throwback Thursday episode features this Graphic 45 February Time to Flourish Folio Tutorial.  This is the second tutorial in our year-long Time to Flourish Folio project.  You can find the January tutorial here. Each month in 2022, I will create a video tutorial using the Time to Flourish 12×12 Deluxe Collector’s Edition and the 8×8 pad.

If this folio looks familiar, it’s because I shared a preview of it earlier this month.   However, I’ve changed up the design a little to make it function better.  So the tutorial is definitely worth a view.

The biggest change is the location of the hidden folio pocket.  I’ve moved it to the bottom of the 6×6 folio.  I’ve also added a 1/4″ spine to the project design which helps it close better.

The hidden folio design is changed up a little bit as well to make better use of paper scraps.  I really like the form and function of this design much better than the original one! Sometimes, practice really does make perfect…or at least better!

Graphic 45 Time to Flourish Desk Calendar by Kathy Clement For Really Reasonable Ribbon PHoto 01

Graphic 45 Time to Flourish February Desk Calendar for the RRR January 2022 Blog Hop

Hello, Friends!  This Graphic 45 Time to Flourish February Desk Calendar is my inspiration piece for the Really Reasonable Ribbon January 2022 Blog Hop!  You should be coming here full of inspiration after visiting my dear and talented friend, Ginny on her blog.  This month we are getting ready for Valentine’s Day with the Sweetheart Ribbon Club Assortment.

I received the Time to Flourish Collection as a Christmas gift to myself.  The February papers are the perfect playmate for this romantic ribbon club assortment.

I chose the Red Houndstooth, White Diamond Satin and Random Hearts on Poppy Satin to adorn this easel style desk calendar.  Can you spot the 6 areas where I used it?

The Random Red Hearts Satin really draws the eye to this pretty chipboard heart and key embellishment.

A Peek Inside

There are lots of gun surprises inside this 6″ x 6″ card base.  The pocket is a handy spot to tuck in photos and journal cards.

Then there’s a hidden pocket with a lovely little pull out folio beneath it.

I had just enough paper from the 12×12 and 8×8 pads to complete the project.

Here’s a sweet spot inside the folio for even more photos.  This is such a fun way to dress up your desk!

On With the Hop!

Now hop on over and see what paper pretties the lovely Cheryl has prepared for you.  Be sure to finish up over on the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog.  If you answer Bonnie’s Question of the Month, you’ll be entered into a drawing to win your very own Sweetheart Ribbon Assortment.

If you’re not a member of the Ribbon Club yet, now is a great time to join.  Bonnie sends out a beautiful  themed ribbon assortment each month.  If you are trying to build up your stash of ribbons, or if you’re trying to get out of a ribbon rut, the Club always has something new and fresh to play with.  You can sign up for the Club HERE.
