Really Reasonable Ribbon January 2024 Blog Hop: Love Birds Shaker Card Folio

Hello, Friends!  Welcome to the Really Reasonable Ribbon January 2024 Blog Hop!  You should be coming here from Gloria’s blog.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete hop list over on the RRR Blog. Our theme for this month’s hop is Valentine’s Day.  While red and pink are the colors we usually think of, I decided to use Medium Pink Plaid with a pop of Aqua  Grosgrain Ribbon in my bow cluster.

Valentine Posies

Flowers and Valentine’s go together, so I surrounded my heart frame with loads of pretty pink and aqua mulberry flowers from RRR. I’ve used a mix of Cherry Blossoms, Sweetheart Blossoms, Chrysanthemums, Cosmos Daisies and Tea Roses in my floral display.  They really pick up on the hues in the designer paper.

A Peek Inside

This fancy fold card cover is actually a magnetic flap over a 5 1/2″ square card base.

I love this design because it has so much room to tuck in goodies and interactive elements.

These sweet  tags are a digital design from Polly’s Paper. They were such a good match for this project, that I just had to tuck them inside.  They are topped with Pink and Teal Baker’s Twine streamers.

I’ve also used a lot of paper pretties from Reneabouquets, and I’ll link to them in the supply list below this post.

Of course, there’s a pocket with some tea and honey crystals tucked inside!  You wouldn’t expect anything else, would you?

On With the Really Reasonable Ribbon January 2024 Blog Hop

Now hop on over to see what beauties my teammate Cheryl has cooked up for you. Once you’ve visited all the blogs in this hop, finish up over on the RRR Blog where you can answer Bonnie’s Question of the Month.   This will enter you in the drawing for a $10 Gift Certificate and a free digital stamp set of your choice.

Enjoy the hop!

Tea and Friendship January 2024 Banner of the Month Tutorial

Hello, Friends!  Today I’m sharing a sweet, vintage style Tea and Friendship January Banner of the Month Tutorial with you.  This is the first of our Banner of the Month Tutorials for 2024.  Because I want you to be able to get this made in time to hang it and enjoy it, I chose a theme and color palette that will work well for Valentine’s Day.  Actually, this banner could hang from now until March, if you wanted it to!

Tea and Friendship January 2024 Banner of the Month Tutorial with Reneabouquets and Simple Stories Vintage Love Story-Kathy Clement-Kathy by Design

This is a BIG banner when finished, so it will look great hanging on a mantel or kitchen hutch.  We’ll be using loads of goodies from Reneabouquets and Simple Stories Vintage Love Story papers to create our banner.  The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  You can find a linked supply list below this post.

Banner Basics

Tags make great banner pennants!  Hang Graphic 45 tags upside down and you can suspend a little dangle charm from the grommet.  I’ve used ATC tags on each end of this banner.

Square tags afford a lot of room for embellishments, so I used three of them on this tag.  The adorable tea set is Reneabouquets.  I’ve heat embossed it with gold and Shabby Pink embossing powders.

Having different shapes and sizes makes for a fun banner.  So I added 2 fishtail banners to the mix..  Stitching a button between each pennant helps to lead the eye down the length of the banner.

Your center pennant should be your focal banner.  Let it be the star of the show.  Think of all  your other pennants as supporting cast.

Use Your Words

Adding words to a banner helps to tell the story.  I love these darling tea themed chippies from Reneabouquets.

TIP: Snow texture paste is a great option inside a teacup!  It has the appearance of whipped cream.  I sprinkled mine with fine pearl glitter glass and some Prills.

This is the only image from the Vintage Love Story collection.

Here’s the last little ATC pennant at the opposite end of the banner.  I like to add ribbon streamers on the ends of my banners, but that is a personal preference.  You do you.
