Victorian Snowman Tea Party in a Box with Really Reasonable Ribbon & Reneabouquets

Hello, Friends!  This darling Victorian Snowman Tea Party in a Box card features a winning round-up of supplies from Really Reasonable Ribbon, Reneabouquets and Simple Stories Winter Woods. There is a lot of sweetness to see here, so let’s get the (tea) party started!

Do You Want to Build a Snowman?

One of the things I love about snowman images is that they are good all winter long!  This pretty in pink Victorian card would be a great winter birthday card, Valentine, or get well greeting.  I built the background of my card with paper scraps.  Then I dug into my embellishments and went to work on building the central image.  Here’s how:

  • First, heat emboss the Reneabouquet Victorian Snowflake Medallion with Stampendous Shabby Pink Embossing Enamel. Place foam tabs in the center of the medallion and adhere it to the card base.
  • Next,  brush Dies Clear Adhesive over the small snowflakes.  Then sprinkle them with fine pearl glitter glass.
  • Now, place dimensionals on the back of Victoria’s Snowman printed beautiful board and adhere on the right hand side of the medallion.
  • Next, arrange flowers (linked below) around the sides of the medallion as seen in the photo.
  • Tie a double loop bow with Pink Taffeta ribbon and tuck the knot under one of the pink roses. Then tie a double loop bow with Pink and Brown Twist Bakers Twine and adhere it over the pink taffeta bow.
  • Thread a heart charm on Pink and Brown Twist, tie a knot and use the point of your scissors to push into the knot of the Bakers Twine bow.
  • Place dimensionals on the back of  the vintage rose corner pieces and adhere.
  • Finally, tuck snowflakes in and around the flowers and images.  Top with Sweet Shop pearls.

A Peek Inside

Add an extra element of surprise to your project when you create a kinetic waterfall feature on the top half of the card.  Wrap ribbon around the back of the mechanism to hold everything neatly in place.

Then build a box pocket to hold all the goodies for a Victorian Snowman Tea Party. Wrap your goodies with leftover bits of designer paper.  Create a tag,  top it with more Pink Taffeta,  a White Satin Bow and a sweet rose charm.  Stitch paper scraps together to make a handy  little bookmark, and top this with white satin ribbon as well.

I hope I’ve shared some tips, tricks and ideas that you’ll be able to use in your own crafty adventures.  You can find a linked supply list below this post.

Stay warm and cozy!

Simple Stories Winter Woods Snowman Home Décor & Another Giveaway

Hello, Friends!  This Simple Stories Winter Woods Snowman wall hanging makes me happy on so many levels.  First, it’s a snowman.  Can you really feel grumpy or out of sorts when you see a snowman?  I can’t!  Then, there’s the tutu trim.  I mean, people, it’s just too too much fun!  Throw in some beautiful Really Reasonable Ribbon, gorgeous papers, stunning chipboard and a chippy white vintage hanger and I’m just happy all over.  How about you?

A Little Confession…..

Simple Stories-Winter Woods-Reneabouquets-Really Reasonable Ribbon-Kathy Clement-Kathy by Design-Photo 01

I do have a little confession to make here.  When I was filming the video tutorial for my Winter Woods Mini Album Kit, I had a major technical malfunction.  I thought my phone was recording.  But my memory card was full…so while I cheerfully crafted and taught…nothing was being recorded.  Uh-oh.

And the nature of paper is that once you have used it…it can’t be used again.  Double uh-oh.

Thankfully, I had been given a gift certificate to Scrapbook.com for Christmas.  And because I loved this Winter Woods collection so much, I had purchased a few sheets for myself.  Also, the delivery came a week earlier than I had expected it.  So I had the papers in house to re-film the portion of the tutorial that didn’t record the first time.  Phew!

But then I was left with a duplicate page.  And that,  my friends, is how this sweet little wall hanging was born. I pulled things off, and glued more things on.  Then I stitched the revamped design onto a burlap panel and added a hanger.  How’s that for innovative thinking?

The Shaker Element

The main change was adding some gorgeous Really Reasonable Ribbon and this Reneabouquets Snowflake Shaker Box, flowers, tutu trim and printed beautiful board.

TIP: Create a frosted window in your shaker box with Dries Clear Adhesive and Glitter Glass.  It’s a little hard to see in the photo, but in real life, it shimmers just like snow!

TIP:  Nile Blue Crosshatch Satin Ribbon is a great color match for this paper collection.  I stitched it on at the top as a border, and I also layered it over White Satin Ribbon to form a fabric belly band.

I thought you might enjoy hearing how I got myself out of a paper fix.  Hope you enjoyed it!

Simple Stories Simple Vintage Winter Woods Mini Album Kit Reveal for The Button Farm Club

Hello, Friends!  I’m welcoming 2023 with this gorgeous Simple Stories Simple Vintage Winter Woods Mini Album Kit Reveal for the Button Farm Club. This is the Button Farm Club January Club Kit.

Did you all have a wonderful Christmas?  We did, but it came and went very quickly!  I had such a good time baking with my daughter and the Grandgirls, feasting at our Christmas gathering and enjoying my week off from work.  But the day after Christmas, I locked myself into the studio and went to work creating this lovely kit for the Button Farm Club. Let’s take a closer look, shall we?

Winter Woods Mini Album: A study in collage

Do you love to create paper collage as much as I do?  There’s something so satisfying about layering in bits and pieces of paper, images and embellishments.  It’s like telling a story with paper, and I am a fan.  So this mini album kit offers a lot of tips and techniques to help you master the art of layering paper pretties.

We will create all the fun flips, flaps and interactive elements that we love so much, of course.  But each of the 3 divider pages in this gorgeous album base is a study in collage.  It’s not as hard as it seems, and the results are stunning.

Another focus in this kit is learning how to create your own embellishments.

Don’t you love this wintry color palette?

Winter is the perfect time to cozy up and create a great big mini album!
