Graphic 45 Time to Flourish July Banner of the Month Tutorial for Throwback Thursday

Hello, Friends!  If you guessed that I would be sharing our Graphic 45 Time to Flourish July Banner of the Month Tutorial today, please give yourself a pat on the back!  Because that is precisely what we are doing!  Welcome to Throwback Thursday, and the 6th Banner of the Month Tutorial for 2023.

We started this series with the February Time to Flourish Banner. Several of  you requested a Banner of the Month tutorial in 2023, and it really has been fun for me and I hope for you as well!  Now we’re all the way up to July!  The year is speeding right along.  So grab a cuppa and a snack and let’s take a peek at this month’s banner.

Shades of Red, White and Blue

I simply could not create a July banner without a nod to the Red, White and Blue!  This sweet banner has a gardening theme, but it will work well for my US friends as patriotic home decor, too.

The pennants this month are Graphic 45 Square Ivory tags.  Stitched onto 1 1/2″ wide red plaid ribbon and topped with vintage lace, they hang with the dome end at the bottom.  This makes for a very quick and easy construction.  Simply use the G45 Square Tag Die to cut the liner for each tag.  Then cut a 4 1/8″ x 3 7/8″ rectangle of designer paper, round the corners and stitch to the tag base. Next, cut the July Flourish papers with a stitched oval die and you’re nearly finished.

The large pennants are flanked by small ATC laser cut tags.  I’ve dressed these up with some Reneabouquets laser cut doilies and a little charm dangle.

This garden themed banner is filled with pretty florals, flirty butterflies and cute charms like this miniature spade and watering can.

 

Oh, hello, ladybug clothespin!

Stitch some vintage navy blue buttons onto the lace border for a little pop of color and shine.  And, top that tiny chipboard charm with  a sweet strawberry and strawberry blossom charm to give it more of a presence.
