Very Victorian Lavender Christmas Card

Very Victorian Lavender Christmas Card

Hello, Friends!  Today I have a Very Victorian Lavender Christmas Card to share with you.  The inspiration for this eye candy was the Shabby Christmas Tags from Polly’s Paper Studio Etsy Shop.  This darling reindeer rocking horse tag caught my eye, and I just had to create a Victorian style Christmas card to showcase it.

Blue Fern Studios Eclectic Charm Little Birdie Vintage Christmas Stickers Polly's Paper Studio Shabby Tags by Kathy Clement Photo 01

Here’s how I put this card together:

  • First, create a 6 1/4″ x 6 1/4″ cream card base.
  • Next, stitch around the edges of a 6″ x 6″ panel from Blue Fern’s Eclectic Charm Collection.
  • Then Die cut the diamond shape from patterned paper using the Amazing Paper Grace Elegant Infinity Die.
  • Now die cut corner pieces from cream cardstock using the same die.
  • Back the diamond with dimensionals to create a little height, then adhere in the center of the card as seen in the photo above.
Shabby Christmas Tag Focal

Print off the Shabby Tags from Polly’s Paper.  Then cut out the cute polka dot reindeer rocking horse tag to use as the focal image on the tag.  I dressed it up with a snowflake charm and some itty bitty purple Christmas ornaments that I had in my stash.   Next,  change out the greeting on the card with a Little Birdie Crafts Christmas sticker (coming soon to their shop!).

Then, I clustered sparkly white flowers around the tag, accenting with itty bitty lavender posies.  Do you spy the sweet vintage Christmas bells in the corner of the flower cluster?  Those are from the same Little Birdie Sticker Sheet.

A Peek Inside

The Victorian vibe is strong inside the card!  Decorate your 6×6 papers with the lovely vintage Christmas bells stickers from Little Birdie Crafts.

Of course, I had to create a pocket!  And if there’s a pocket, there must be treats!  This one holds a pouch of lovely cocoa to warm up a chilly December morning.

The little treat wallet holds a matched set of Ghiradelli Peppermint Bark to go along with the cocoa.

I had such fun creating this Christmas card with non-traditional colors and without using Christmas papers.  You might want to check your stash to see if you have any non-holiday paper that might work well for making Christmas cards, too!

Oh, and you might be interested to know that both Polly’s Paper and Little Birdie are having some pretty incredible sales right now!  Little Birdie has loaded about 150 new products into the shop including new paper collections and new flowers. Happy shopping!

Oh Kathy, I have just one word for this card. Exquisite! I love everything about it. That little deer tag is so precious. I really like non traditional colors for Christmas. Blue Fern is one of my all time favorites for card making paper. They always have such soft dreamy colors and images. Your flowers and ribbons are just gorgeous and the inside is beautiful as always. Thank you for sharing! Hugs!

I am in love. This is scrumptious and reminds me of one of my Christmas trees in the past. (Used to have one in every room with a different theme and color scheme – such fun.) I love that your designs always evoke a wonderful “old” memory. I savor these snap shots in time you give me. And how I adore your talented designs – so very pretty. I shall have to decorate the mantle in lavender, purple, and gold. Wish you and your family a peaceful Christmas season filled with love and joy.

Beautiful beautiful Kathy! Who says Christmas has to be green, red, gold and silver??? I am for different colours at this time of year, purple and green look great together, blue and silver, heck even pinks nowadays! LOVE the colour palettes now! Have a good Sunday!

The outside of this lovely card says “winter” while the inside says “Christmas!” I like the deeply colored bells sticker, the image seen as the card is opened. Words to “Carol of the Bells” start playing as I look at the rest of your card. Nice to see you and Ginny working together to create this pretty project. Hard to believe Christmas is only 3 weeks away. You’re right…we need to lobby Congress to stretch December out to 6 weeks!!

OMG, Kathy, I never imagined a lavender/purple card for Christmas, but you have done it. This is my color and the card is stunning to say the least.

Oh my …such a gorgeous Victorian Christmas card in those lavender colors! Who would of thought that could be possible …but you! Luv all your details, even those tiny Christmas bells on the front cover! Your creations are just amazing Kathy! Take care and the best of holidays to you and all of yours. Big hugs, Suzy Q

Beautiful, beautiful card, Kathy!! I love the purple. A few years ago, before my husband passed away, I usually put up 25 – 27 Christmas trees – each room had a tree and they were different themes and colors. The one we did in all purple and silver seemed to be his favorite tree, and I have to admit, it was striking. This card reminded me of that tree – what good memories of all that decorating – always started in October. Thanks for bringing those memories back to me – I wish you and your family a glorious, wonderful Christmas!!
