Hello Friends! It’s time for another fun challenge over at Really Reasonable Ribbon. This one will have you digging into your February Ribbon Club Assortment because it is a color challenge: use purple and green with ribbon on your project! I had this great collage photo, and decided to work it up into a vintage baby girl card.
Although I wouldn’t normally reach for purple and green for a baby card, I have been working to empty out my bulging scrap drawer. When I found these pretty papers in there along with this vintage collage image…well the card began to take shape!
I added lots of stitching, chipboard that had been languishing in the drawer, and some painted metal embellies to give this vintage baby girl card a real antique feel. I even tinted her dress with a lavender Spectrum Noir marker. The gorgeous Grape Plaid Ribbon and delicate Sandra Crochet Lace were the perfect complements for this card. I tied that sweet little birdie charm onto the ribbon using a bit of my favorite White Iridescent Metallic String.
I made this card for my best friend’s daughter, who just gave birth to a beautiful little girl. Danielle is an artist, so I knew she would appreciate all the work that went into making this card.
Now it’s your turn! Get out your purple and green ribbons, papers and pretties and make something fabby for this challenge. Link it up at the RRR blog..and I’ll be popping by to take a look and leave you some love.
Thanks for stopping by….now go get your craft on!
Cheerio,
kathy
LOVE the colours you’ve chosen for this card,Kathy. The ‘vintage’ really pings out of this card, and I truly could see this being a card of it’s time. It’s perfect, and I love it.
(been poorly again … same thing keeps coming back and the docs can’t work out what the heck is going on … but they’re trying!)
