Simple Stories Vintage Christmas Lodge Card Folio for Really Reasonable Ribbon

Hello, Friends!  It’s Christmas in July at Kathy by Design, and I have this rustic Vintage Christmas Lodge Card Folio to share with you today.  It’s dressed up with layers of patterned paper from Simple Stories and beautiful ribbons and trims from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Red, black and plaid Christmas cards always make me happy, how about  you?  That’s why I created a Bold Black Check bow to accent the elements on this 5″ x 7″ top fold card.  Of course, Gold Metallic String adds just the right bit of holiday sparkle to the flower cluster.  And, teeny tiny Christmas Baker’s Twine bows make the Christmas banner element look even more adorable.

A Peek Inside

The vintage Christmas vibe carries over to the inside of the card where I’ve added a flap page and a pocket.  Since I like to give cards that double as gifts, I tucked a little gift card wallet into the pocket.  It’s made with the new Gift Card Wallet Die that I designed for The Button Farm Club.  Turns out, it’s also the perfect size to hold a Christmas tea bag, honey crystal packet and tiny tag.  How fun is that?

Tucked behind the flap page, I’ve added some bold buffalo plaid paper and a sweet little tuck spot.  There’s a 3×4 journal card in there right now, but you could easily add a large holiday photo here.  Then write your personal message on the flap.

It’s so hot here in North Carolina right now.  The heat index on Friday was 106 degrees!  Today it’s overcast and cooler, but the humidity  is still really high.  Perfect weather for Christmas card creation in my air conditioned studio!  Anyone else getting a jump start on the holiday during these steamy summer months?  I’d love to hear what you’re working on in the comment section below.

As usual, you can find a linked supply list below this post.

Thanks for stopping by, friends!

** Please note, Vintage Christmas Lodge is an older collection,, so I may not be able to link to all the elements I used from it to make this card.  Thanks for undertanding!

Everything about this card is delightful. I love how you collage so many different things together to make the perfect embellishments!

I love giving gift cards to my kids and my older grands. This is a really creative and gorgeous way to do that! I love it!

A cheery fun filled folio indeed. Your embellishments are always the finishing touch. I have been ‘deciding’ what to make next for a male card, probably a photography theme, something like ‘focus on the good’. It is winter here, we have had some very strong trade winds and squally showers, but this morning the winds have eased and the sun is shining and we will spend time planting native shrubs and trees in the garden.
I hope family are all trucking along improving and growing!

The heat is starting this week in Montana too. Low humidity, though, but we don’t have air conditioning. I’ll be baking cakes…would rather be making Christmas cards! Loving the red, black and white.

Beautiful Christmas card Kathy! I really like the plaid backgrounds and the Christmas banner! The pine needles and checked ribbon give it a little rustic feel. Loving the vintage vibe! Thank you for sharing! Hugs!❤️

What a delightful Christmas card folio. I also spend time making cards when the humidity is so high-am currently making some of your famous tea party in a box cards to have ready in my stash. Thank you so much for sharing!
