Crafty Secrets Vintage Halloween Card with Zipper Flower
Hello, Friends! I’m back with another sweet vintage Halloween card featuring images from Crafty Secrets Creating with Vintage Illustrations CD. I’ve been finding loads and loads of wonderful images for all occasions on this CD. If you don’t have it in your crafty toolbox, you might want to think about adding it, as it contains gorgeous papers, printable images, templates for 3-D projects, die cuts and more.
I was delighted to find gorgeous Halloween images and papers here, and used them to make this sweet vintage Halloween card.
I created my own paper tole by printing this page out twice. After they were colored with Distress Markers and a water brush, the trick or treaters were fussy cut and embossed with UTEE to give them added strength. I cracked the image slightly , to give it a real vintage look.
Foam dots were used to layer them over the base panel, which had been spritzed with Distress Markers.
The background was pieced together using two papers from the CD. Lots of stitching was added along with some fun ephemera from the Digital Halloween Printables Download.
I pulled a black zipper from my sewing basket, separated it into two halves, and sewed a simple gathering stitch down the side. The thread was gathered, and this spooky black zipper flower was made in a jiffy. I backed it with lots of loopy Halloween plaid ribbon that I had in my stash.
The little sentiment banner, “Eat, Drink, and be scary” was also in my stash of Halloween goodies. I cut a fishtail banner on the end and matted it on metallic orange and black papers.
I love this distressed orange polka dot paper! And the bingo cards, too! They are so perfect for Halloween!
