Winner April Blog Candy Event Week 3 and Announcing April Blog Candy Event week 4

Hello Friends!

I’m just popping in very quickly today to announce the winner of my April Blog Candy Event Week 3!  All the US  names went into a hat and the lucky name drawn out was:

Kris/LuvtoKraft

Congrats, Kris!  I’ve already sent you an e-mail and once I get your mailing address, I’ll send your beautiful stamps right out to you!

April Blog Candy Event Week 4 is Live Now!

Since I have a little girl’s weekend getaway planned for myself starting on April 30th, I’m going to start the week 4 giveaway today, and run it through Tuesday, April 28th.  That gives me time to pick a winner and get prizes mailed before I leave.

This week there will be 2 drawings:

For my International Followers, I will be doing a drawing for a $25 gift certificate to Heartfelt Creations.

How to Win:

  1. If you’re already a follower of my blog, THANK YOU! If not, sign up using the form in the upper right hand corner of this post.
  2. Leave a comment below letting me know if you READ blog posts, or do you just skim them and mostly look at the pictures?  Tell the truth, now…and I promise it won’t hurt my feelings!  LOL  I’m asking this because I want to hear from you what you prefer, so I can tailor my blog to that.  If you like to read the details of how a project was made, I want to be sure to share that with you.  But if you mostly just want to be inspired by a picture of the project, I don’t want to bore you.  Or maybe you want one detailed post a week, and the rest just short and sweet.  I’d love to know! So thanks for helping me with this!
  3. Indicate what country you are from, so I know which hat to put your name in.

That’s it!  Easy Peasy!  The winner will be announced here on Wednesday, April 29th.

Have a great weekend!

Cheerio,

kathy

Hello, I usually read the post, but it depends on time…as I have 2 toddlers…they don’t let me read for a long time, they usually want to hit buttons! =)
Then, I keep the ones I want to read open, so I can read them when they are sleeping. I’m from the US.

  2. cottagerca

I skim first and if something catches my eye. I pull over, and my nose is like 2″ from the computer screen….lolololo

    Congrats to Kris

Do I skim or do I read, it all depends on the time I have that day. I work full time and am taking French classes five days a week with homework every day so my time is very limited. I find that if something catches my eye then I read it from beginning to end, especially tutorials. The weekends are a different story, I read as much as I can.

I love seeing pictures on blogs but I also like the personal posts when people just get on and tell a little about them selves.

I hope yu have a lovely weekend.

What beautiful stamps! As for what I read on blogs, it depends on the blog. On some blogs, I look and drool over their pretty pictures of cards/projects. On other blogs, there might be some neat technique that was done on a card, so I read the details to see how they did that.

  5. Paperpapier

I follow and read blog >200 posts via Feedly daily. I don’t have time to read the details, unless the post is a tutorial on something I have never heard of before. 999% of the time, I glance through the pictures and if they are really eye-catching, I would go into that particular blog to read about it.

Lucky you to have a getaway…wait I am leaving on the 30th too, and be back on the 3rd…lol….I have to enter this, that stamp with the dress form is calling my name,,,I can hear it clear across the room….teehee…have a great “girlie” time!!!

Congrats to the winners so far and thank you for your generosity Kathy. When I read your blog, and others, I like to skim the photos first and just soak in the creativity first! Then I take a closer look and try to figure out how it’s made. So I do like some instruction along the way, and tutorials are always welcome. I don’t usually read long product lists but I love to hear a chatty, folksy story behind why the crafter chose to make that particular project and how they ended up with that design. I have trouble coming up with new ideas so blogs are my go-to!
I live in the US and just love these stamps! Have a great week!

I am a subscriber to your blog and I read every word!! I actually like to know a bit about the bloggers that I follow and like to hear about your everyday life, the way you design and organize your supplies, etc. When it comes to actual projects, I usually look at the photos and skim through the instructions unless it’s something I want to re-create. Thanks so much for the chance to win these gorgeous stamps!

  9. Jeanne Kelly

I don’t usually read in detail unless it’s a tutorial that I’m trying to follow. I agree with the others that the photos are my inspiration – eye candy!! And you provide a lot of that. I thank you!!

Hi Kathy! I love your tutorials, they are so self-explanatory. The pictures are the things that inspire me the most! I love Vintage work and the more layering the better! Thank you for all you do to inspire your followers! I live in Southern Oregon (as you already know ). Rozy

Many congratulations to Kris. Very well done.

Commenting, not to be included in the draw (you know I live in fairyland) (lol) – but to let you know about the reading/skimming ….

When I first open the page I gaze longingly at the initial photo, drinking in every drop of your creation. Then I try to see how you’ve done what you’ve done in order to end up with the amazing result you have …. once I’ve had a guess at the required steps, I then scroll down and check out the photos.

THEN … I scroll back up and read from the top to the bottom, reading and looking again at the photos as you ‘talk’.

I like the visual images to inspire me (ohhh, and HOW you inspire me!) and then love readng your written words, as I feel I can hear your patient voice speaking to me and encouraging me to give something a go.

I love all of your blog posts Kathy, – and both the photos and the information on how to go about doing a particular ‘something’ whch you’ve done. (Also love that you include details of products used. You have access to ‘stuff’ which I may have no knowledge of, – *That CD* a couple of weeks ago, being one of them(!) – so this information helps me to track down something which I otherwise would never have known about.)

Again, don’t include me in the draw Kathy – Fairyland is too far away. :o)

  12. Sandi Smith

I’m a reader of everything, including blog posts. I’ve always been a voracious reader but the biggest reason I read is because I love information and learning new ideas. If I only looked at the pictures or skimmed the information in a blog, I might miss something I would love to know. I learn a lot from taking the time to read.

  13. Michel E

I like reading posts and looking at the pictures. I am from the United States.

  14. Dot Walker

I enjoy reading the posts and seeing the pictures. I love trying new things and the pictures help to make sure it’s coming along.

  15. LuvtoKraft

I wanted my thanks post to be separate from Kathy’s questions today. I follow a number of blogs and most I read start to finish and pour over the pictures and tutorials. I enjoy this blog so much because you give such clear, well photographed instructions. I’m a hands on person, so photographs with details are very, very welcome. I have Pinterest boards for my very favorite crafters and follow all of them very closely. I also skim through some other blogs and only spend time if it’s something that really appeals to me. Kathy, your posts are always great, so I would say do what your time and creativity comfortably allow. Blogging is work and trying to put out extensive tutorials for every post would be very time consuming. I know I just look forward every day to see what you have created. I’m never disappointed whatever the length and complexity! Thank you for sharing all your lovely creations with us! Happy Weekend everyone!

  16. Dawn Skene

I am from Canada. If I see a project and wonder how it was made, then I read the whole blog. Some other days, if I am busy, I just skim through and look at the pictures! Thanks for the chance to win!

  17. LuvtoKraft

My goodness, what a sweet surprise I’ve received this morning! Thank you so much for your generosity, Kathy! I loved that stamp grouping as soon as I saw it and I wished upon a star! How lucky am I today and really always because every day is a gift! 🙂 Also to each and everyone commenting today big thanks for all your kind words. That’s so lovely Kathy has such kind and generous followers. You have all made my day! Good luck to you all for next weeks giveaway! HUGS!!!

    Congrats to Kris.
Unfortunately, tho I’d love to read all, there’s too much, so I look at pics 1st, then choose which ones to read.
    Have a wonderful trip!

Big Congrats Kris, on your win.
Kathy, i read an look. what I like best is photo;s breaking down the steps, especially on your very detailed projects. As I am a visual learner. the directions you give help me understand the project and the pictures help me see the progress. Guess you say I like both. I am no happy when I see just the project. How was it made, what was used etc. would be missed. You provide all this and I am very happy, with your post. if time is a problem then I would recommend just short sentences and pictures for detail once in awhile. Hope this helps.

  20. Carla Hundley

    Sending congrats to Kris!
I think your idea for a detail
one day and shot and sweet
the rest of the time would be
great! I do skim the pictures
    and read what interest me.
    Thanks for all the giveaways
    you have done.

  21. Heather Mills

I do both. Usually I do read an entire blog post, but if I am in a real hurry, I will just be inspired by the photos and skim the directions/explanation. But for the most part, I love seeing how others create and how they do things that I can’t really figure out. Thanks for the chance to win. I live in the U.S.

  22. Carol

Congratulations to Kris. These stamps are beautiful Kathy and someone is going to be very lucky to win these.
I enjoy reading all your posts Kathy they really do give inspiration. I do sometimes go through quickly but enjoy going back to read the details. I am not too keen if someone just posts a project without details and some bloggers are not happy for you to even base your project on theirs. Enjoy your girlie weekend x

  23. Sara Emily Barker

Congratulations, Kris! I have to say I was a previous winner, and I’ve already received my stamps, packed up so safely and with a special enclosure from Kathy–she is one special girl! Kathy remembered how much I admired one of her makes I had the pleasure of seeing in person, and included that in my package! Woo Hoo! I love it, Kathy! And the stamps are pristine! I’ve already used some of them, and these are great stamps!

Please don’t include me in the draw, but I wanted to tell you, I READ posts, although I usually skim first. If someone is going to take their time to write it, I will most certainly take my time to read it. I love a well written post, and often refer back to them if I need instructions. If someone doesn’t give at least some written word on their work, I usually just pass over it after taking a quick look. These posts do not stick with me; sorry, but being truthful.

Kathy, enjoy your little girl’s weekend! Rest up! Hugs!

  24. tinalala

I read blog posts but pictures to help. I love reading what inspires you to make the amazing projects. thank you!

  25. Ron P.

I love your posts and I read them all from start to finish, while enjoying all the pictures!

  26. mjmarmo

I actually read blog posts. I love seeing what other people are creating and how they do it. This can be a source of wonderful inspiratioN!!

  27. Sue D

I usually do read blog posts unless I am very busy that day. I don’t necessarily need super detailed instructions unless it is a complicated procedure.
