Winter Fox Woodland Style Greeting Card with Ciao Bella Sound of Winter Creative Pack
Hello Friends! This winter fox woodland style greeting card is a lovely way to welcome the season. It’s made with Ciao Bella Sound of Winter Creative Pack, which was a gift from my sweet Montana friend, Becky. She knows all about winter!
This handsome fox sits quietly under the full winter moon as snowflakes drift around him.
TIP: Create a full moon effect by placing circular element from the collection behind the fox. Pop it up with dimensionals to add depth to the card design.
Moonlight Walks
The patterns and images in this collection take me right back to my childhood home in Vermont where winter days were dark and cold…but filled with their own special beauty. If I close my eyes and remember, I can still feel the sharp, icy sting of winter air against my cheeks and smell the freshness of the snowflake filled air. My boots squeak under my feet as I trudge up our long hill under the watery light of the winter moon. Home is at the top of the hill. Light, warmth and a slice of mom’s homemade bread with a bowl of steaming soup wait for me there. It’s a cozy memory, despite the cold. I tried to capture the feeling of serenity and natural beauty that I remember from those days in this card. Let’s take a closer look at the details, shall we?
Winter Fox Woodland Style Greeting Card: Wintry Details
TIP: Add winter charm to a card with white! The flowers, snowflakes, paint spatters and die cut skeleton leaves help to amp up the wintry woodland vibe of this card.
TIP: Rustic charm comes from the kraft card base, burlap panel, burlap string, distressed edges and background paper.
The card base is 5″ x 7″ with a 1/2″ spine, because I knew I would want to tuck in some goodies.
TIP: Add some sparkle with Diamond Stickles and glitter. Use an adhesive that dries clear (Art Institute is my favorite) and all you will see is the sparkle! Use a light hand…a little glitter goes a long way!
Winter Fox Woodland Style Greeting Card: A Peek inside
Here’s a fun idea for pockets. Fussy cut the bird on the fence and layer over the pocket flap. This, combined with the window scene pocket almost make you feel like you could walk into the card.
To make the window scene card, simply fussy cut it from the paper. Then adhere top, bottom and right hand side to the card base. Die cut a sentiment panel and tuck behind the window along with a little tea bag.
The bottom pocket holds a sweet little bookmark, a chocolate treat, honey stick and a lovely vintage gold plated demitasse spoon. Now we’ve turned this card into a gift! I think it would make a lovely winter birthday card, get well card or even a Happy New Year card.
If you’d like to purchase this card folio, it’s available in my Etsy shop.
I hope I’ve shared some tips, tricks and ideas you can use in your own crafty adventures. If so, I’d love to hear from you in the comment section below.
Thanks for stopping by!
Cheerio,
kathy

We get a lot of fox around here, and I have one in my yard several times a month, but a few weeks ago one was napping on the roof. I couldn’t believe it…so gorgeous too! LOVE your fox’s sweet face on the this…it invokes a peaceful feeling!
Another breath taking design/folio with these gorgeous papers! I could kiss your friend, Becky for sending these papers to you, because at your hand, they make the most wonderful winter cards! You have filled me with delight this morning, Kathy, as I try and catch up on a few of your most recent posts. One, more, and then off to work with a bounce in my step! Sending hugs!
This card looks great! Luv the wintery scene you created. Looks like the snow is falling!!! And luv the inside too …that window and the bird on the old fence rail …perfect …as usual, you know just what to do. Thanks for sharing another of your great stories too! Luv those! Hugs, Suzy Q
Love the fox and the window on the inside.
Oh I love the fox. I have a friend that would LOVE this card. You have really done a great job with this one Kathy. The fox with the house in the background, perfect. The inside with a birdie 🙂 Really lovely.
Ciao & Wow Kathy this really speaks to me; the paper is gorgeous not to mention the name! Foxes remind me of my home in VA we had several red foxes who lived in our backyard with a variety of other wild life. Mint chocolate (one of my fav chocolates; but there isn’t a bad piece of choclolate!) was eaten by the fireside while watching nature, And even more…my favorite tea, lovely delicious Earl Grey (Mom was born and raised in Liverpool so a cuppa was alway available). Your creations are so pretty and I love the extras you add. Thanks for the trip down your memory lane and for allowing me to recall my old memories.
You have captured the perfect winter scene with this beautiful card. I love reading about your life, little moments that hold a special place in your heart. Your words are so full of detailed imagery that it takes me right back there with you. Wishing you blessings and hugs, my friend. I still may get around to that email, but it’s a difficult one to write.
Outstanding card, Kathy!! I love the window in the card – beautiful as always!!
So beautiful, warm and comforting 🙂 Makes you wanna grab a cup of coffee/tea and relax.
ditto what Gena said. Your cards always are stunning and full of little surprises for the recipient. I love that paper line.
I agree with Gena. Everything she said is what I was going to say so it’s a X2 for you! Where I grew up we got the occasional snow storm so that’s where your card takes me. What a wonderful friend you have to give you such a gift. The set is truly inspiring as are your creations. Hugs.
Wonderful put together Kathy, adore the layers and the pop up feature.
Kathy, what a beautiful winter card! I love the rustic look and that darling fox image on the front. The window on the inside looking out onto a snowy landscape is so pretty. And what a lovely little bookmark! You always have so many wonderful details in your creations. Thank you for sharing this beauty! Hugs!
