Winter Wishes Christmas Card

Winter Wishes Christmas Card: Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog Hop with Gracielle Design

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  It’s time for the November Blog Hop at Really Reasonable Ribbon.  This month we’re teaming up with Gracielle Design.  I’ve used her digital stamps and papers to create this elegant Winter Wishes Christmas Card.  If you’ve come here from Karen’s lovely blog, then you are right on track.  Now let’s get to hopping!

This month, we’re focusing on the ribbons in the gorgeous November Ribbon Club Country Christmas Assortment.  I had such fun pairing these lovely ribbons up with Gracielle Design Winter Blessings Digital Stamps and Holiday Traditions Digital Paper Collection.  Here’s a look at these lovely ribbons.

Winter Wishes Christmas Card

This is a 5″ x 7″ top fold card.  After printing out my digital papers, I cut them to size.  Then I inked the edges with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.  Next, I double matted the layers on silver metallic and burgundy cardstock.  Then I created extra dimension in this Winter Wishes Christmas card by adding waste chipboard (instead of foam spacers) between the layers.

Next, I printed the sentiment on white cardstock, and matted it on a die cut label.  At this point, the card is pretty…but it needs some jazzing up.

Winter Wishes Christmas Card: Ribbon to the Rescue!

In my world, ribbon is always the perfect finishing accent.  I pulled out my trusty Bow-it-All Tool to create this elegant bow cluster.  The base layer is a double loop bow tied with Moss Bold Diamond Print Satin Ribbon.  The next layer shimmers thanks to 3/8″ Soft Pine Satin with a Gold Metallic Edge Ribbon.  The icing on this Winter Wishes Christmas Card Bow Cluster is a delicate string bow tied with Gold Metallic String.  Last, but not least, I’ve added a silver button from my stash.

Winter Wishes Christmas Card: A Peek Inside

Now it’s time to finish the inside of this pretty card.  I layered up scraps of my digital papers with another lovely sentiment from the Winter Blessings Digital Stamp set.  Dress this up with a little ribbon border and a few sparkling silver gumdrops.

Then, add a little gift card pocket filled with a tea bag and a honey stick to finish with a flourish!

On with the Hop!

From here, you will hop on over to see what paper pretties Cherry has in store for you.

Be sure to visit all the blogs on the hop, and leave a little love behind.  Then finish up on the RRR Blog where you will answer Bonnie’s question of the month.  This will enter you into the drawing for your very own Country Holiday Ribbon Collection!

If you’re not already a subscriber to the RRR Monthly Ribbon Club, now is a great time to let Santa know that it would make a great Christmas gift!  And now is the perfect time to sign up, as Bonnie is offering new subscribers a special deal on the November/December Club Assortments.

I hope I’ve inspired you with some ideas that you can use in making your own Christmas cards!  Thanks for stopping by!

Cheerio,

kathy

Very festive Kathy, great card!!! Need some colour up here today, very gray and wet. The sun is shining at the moment but wait 10 minutes and it will be pouring again. It is that time of year for sure. Thanks for sharing Kathy, look forward to see what you bring us tomorrow 🙂

What a pretty treat! I love the way the green ribbons and bows play against your bright red poinsettias for the front of your card. And then you get another treat when you open it up and there are all these pretty papers and trims. Thank you so much for sharing and inspiring! I have lots of little pieces of pretty paper I should be doing this with. 🙂

Such a beautiful card Kathy with beautiful bows and ribbons. I’ve never thought of using chipboard waste instead of foam. Does it stick as well as foam?. Hope you are well my friend. carolxx

Lovely card. I was unsure about using digital stamp sets and your card showed me how to use them correctly. I love it when my questions are answered before I ask! Thanks for the lesson.
