RRR Anything Goes with Ribbon Challenge: Little Black Dress Folio
Hello, Ribbon Lovers! It’s time for another great “Anything Goes with Ribbon” challenge over on the Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge Blog. I’ve created this Little Black Dress Folio with pretty ribbons from the Country Holiday November Ribbon Club Assortment. They work so well with these Photoplay Vintage Girl papers.
Can you use Country Holiday ribbons on a Little Black Dress folio? Yes, yes you can! The pink ribbons worked perfectly on this very girly folio!
Lots of matted paper layers here, and a little machine stitching, too. The folio measures 5″ x 7″ with a 1/2″ spine that allows for lots of paper pretties on the card interior.
Little Black Dress Folio: The Ribbon Cluster
This posh triple layer bow came together thanks to my trusty Zutter Bow it All Tool. Here’s the recipe:
- First tie a double loop bow from Country Holiday 5/8″ Tulip Taffeta Ribbon. Use hot glue to attach it to the corner of the Little Black Dress image.
- Next, tie a second double loop bow using Raspberry Swirl 3/8″ Gingham Ribbon.
- Now, put that Zutter Bow it All Tool to work one more time to tie a double loop string bow with Silver Metallic String. Glue it over the Raspberry Swirl Ribbon.
- Top it all off with a vintage jet black button.
Little Black Dress Folio: The Embellishments
You all know how much I enjoy embellishing a project! This sweet little hanger is just the right accent for the focal image on this folio. To make it party-ready, I ran scraps of Raspberry Swirl Gingham and Tulip Taffeta through it along with a paper scrap. A dot of hot glue between the ribbon layers holds everything in place. Then I topped it with a trio of WOC Mixed Pink Sweetheart Blossoms. I found this tiny jet button in my vintage button stash.
To make the Little Black Dress really shine, add a fine layer of Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive and then sprinkle with ultra fine clear glitter. When the glitter is dry, add one more sweetheart blossom.
As a finishing touch, I added a few sparkly sequins.
Little Black Dress Folio: The Party’s on the Inside!
I really went to town on the inside of this folio. The large pocket holds a little gift card wallet, pink photo mounts and a cute little refrigerator magnet.
The side pocket contains a lovely little mini album complete with bookmark and a sweet treat.
The bookmark is topped with the same ribbon used on the front of the card.
