Hidden Pop Up Panel Card Tutorial

Hidden Pop Up Panel Card Tutorial with 49 & Market Country Heart Cafe

Hello, Friends!  We have a fabulous Hidden Pop Up Panel Card Tutorial for this Wonderful Wednesday session!  I’m so excited to share this new fun fold card design with you, especially since it’s made with the gorgeous Country Heart Cafe Collection!

I got the idea for this card base from a photo on Pinterest.  Of course, there was no tutorial.  So out came my sketch notebook, ruler and pencil.  My idea was to add a pop up panel to the card to make it extra fun to open.  And the design seemed simple enough.  But it took attempts later, to finally “nailed” all the scores, cuts and measurements.  My trash bin will testify to this fact.

That’s how much I liked this card design.  I was willing to wade through failed effort after failed effort to bring it to life.

Was it worth it?

You be the judge!

Flower Card Hidden Pop Up Panel Card

How cute is this little flower cart card?  As with most of my cards, it measures 5″ x 7″.  I added a few handmade sunflowers, some die cut frames and a bit of ribbon to the front cover.  But that’s just the tip of the iceberg!

This z-fold style card has a nifty little mechanism that hides the pop up panel.  Now it can stand for display and has a cool 3-D effect. But that’s not all!

Hidden behind the front cover art is a really fun little top fold panel.  And yes, as the name suggests, you will find a pop up feature tucked inside.  There’s another surprise on the back of this card, but you’ll have to watch the video to see that.

What if we made this card on a 7″ x 5″ horizontal base?  That could be super cute, right?  So I did!  (It only took about 4 tries to get it right this time.  Progress!)

Once again,  there’s a cool pop up card hidden behind the front panel.

Fall Flowers Coffee House Card

In case you were wondering, these cards are rather addictive.  Once I got the hang of making them, I could not stop myself.  I added some mixed media inking and embossing to the 3rd card.  That was fun!

Would you like to learn how to create both the vertical and the horizontal versions of this card base?  Well, you are in luck, because I filmed tutorials for both.  I hope you’ll grab a cuppa and a snack and join me for some fun fold card making over on my YouTube channel.

Did you enjoy that?  I know I did!

I’ll be back next week with one final Country Heart Cafe project to share with you.  Then we will be moving on to Christmas crafting.  (How is that even possible?)

In case you missed it, I shared a sneak peek of the paper collections we’ll be working with this holiday season.  You can find it HERE.

You will find a linked supply list and basic measurements for today’s projects in the description box below the video on my YouTube channel.  I’ve also tagged products within the video for your shopping convenience.  And, as always, you will find a linked supply list below this post.

Thanks so much for stopping by, friends!
