Ciao Bella Farmhouse Garden Banner Tutorial with Reneabouquets for Wonderful Wednesday
Hello, Friends! It’s time to make this Ciao Bella Farmhouse Garden Banner Tutorial for our August 2024 Banner of the Month. The Ciao Bella papers and Reneabouquets Bee goodies fit right in with our August “Sunflowers and Bees” theme. You’ll get a sneak peek at our August Flower of the Month, too, as I’ve planned a tutorial for the handmade sunflowers that adorn this banner.
Sweet as Honey
Bee themed projects are one of my favorites, and they take center stage on this vintage style banner. Let me tell you, my friends, at almost 5 feet long from ribbon tail to ribbon tail, this banner was a challenge to photograph! I wish you could see it in real life, as it is truly beautiful.
See that itty bitty Mason Jar embellishment? Soooo cute! It’s made with goodies from Reneabouquets. Here’s how I altered it to look like a honey jar:
- First, brush the “glass” with Versamark embossing ink.
- Next, heat emboss with Seth Apter Ancient Amber Baked Texture.
- Now, while the Ancient Amber embossed area is still hot, add a layer of Seth Apter Vintage Beeswax Baked Texture. Heat emboss again.
- Then tie some burlap string around the neck and tie a bow. Top with an itty bitty posy from Reneabouquets.
- Finally, fussy cut the label from the 6×6 Farmhouse Garden pad. Back with foam tape and adhere in the center of your honey jar.
Entwined Wreaths and Mustard Seeds
Do you ever add a circular element to your papercrafting projects? It’s a great way to soften hard angles and draw the eye to the center of whatever you are making. For these tag pennants, die cut circular elements from the A4 pad and surround them with a lovely wreath die cut.
Amp up the bee theme with some pretty honeycomb Beautiful Board elements. Then fill in the open areas with mustard seeds. You’ll be surprised at how much this adds to the finished project.
I love banners that are rich with texture, so I incorporated a little burlap and crochet lace along with my ribbons. it adds a nice “homespun” vibe to the pennants.
